The heroine of the story, Molly, has been spending the past 15 years being a single parent to her daughter, Amelia. For a class project Amelia does a DNA test and the data base matched her to her father. That match turns out to be Harry so she goes looking for him. The story really starts when she shows up on his doorstep and against all odds, she convinces him that he is her father. Harry had done the DNA test as part of his work. Amelia immediately becomes a part of the big Sullivan family.
The story has a lot of drama as everyone tries to make up the years they missed in Amelia's life. They had to come to grips with their own lives and what they were holding on to that just created more emotional problems. You will love Harry. What a sweet guy. Not at all the absent minded professor. He is just a great hero. Molly is a strong woman, in control of her life, but out of control where Harry is concerned. This is just a very good read. There is no violence, no bad gys, no drugs and crazy exes. A great love story. A very good read about a very good family. I really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it.
The story is set in New York and Molly works at Boldt Castle by Alexandria Bay. I had to look it up to see if the author just created this spot for the story. She didn't. Google had a great many sites to go to and research this castle. I didn't even know it existed but it does and it is beautiful. I learned something while reading this story! :-)
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/19/18
Now, fifteen years later, while he is throwing a double engagement party for Drake and Samantha, a young girl comes to Harry’s door. She claims she is his daughter and provides DNA tests to prove it. Harry is overjoyed to have a daughter and a little angry that Molly would keep his child from him. Will a second DNA test prove she really is his daughter? How is it possible? Will everyone accept the news.
Harry was the second oldest Sullivan sibling. Although successful professionally, he put his personal life on hold during college to take care of his family. In doing so, he let the love of his life go and never fully recovered from that loss, even though it had been fifteen years. No one could ever measure up to his first and only love, Molly Connal.
Molly was a single mom raising her daughter, Amelia. She would never talk about Amelia’s father, knowing it was best to keep the details to herself. Amelia was now fifteen and unbeknownst to Molly, she set out to find her dad.
Although the plot seemed like an old predictable one, there was a twist revealed immediately and not all was as it seemed. The entire book spanned only a week but central to the storyline, frequent reflection for past events was also included. At times there was an underlying sad vibe to it but it was also mixed with hope. In the end, it was a sweet second chance read.
Foster brought the NY Sullivan’s series to a conclusion with peace, hope and love, while also introducing the Maine Sullivan’s six siblings with Cassie’s story next to kick it off.

Harry gets a shock when his daughter turns up on his doorstep, a 15 year old teenager who found out that he is 50% likely to be her father. I love Amelia and I love how Harry and Molly reconnect in many different ways, and in the process healing past hurts and pains that they never truly dealt with.
It also helps William, Harry’s father to mend some past hurts too. This story really tugged at my heart and I love that I got to see this family reunite and heal at the same time. It’s a running theme throughout Bella’s books. I also adore the mention of Sullivans all over the world, a subtle reminder the Sullivan series is not yet over by a long shot. I’m genuinely so excited to read more from this talented author!
