 (38)1 h 33 min201716+
Two soldiers of a powerful Mexican cartel, having lost their link to humanity, spend their time cutting people into little pieces and sending the parts to their enemies. Their lives are changed forever with the arrival of their next victim: a 10 year old girl who is the daughter of a rival cartel boss entangled in a struggle for power.

the business of getting dead

I like the action and violence. I didn't like all the reading. I sometimes just let the Mexicans speak Spanish without reading because I know the part of the movie that I want is the last 20%. I like the shooting. I like the punching and kicking. I like the blade action.

Great Mexican Cartel Flick
Verified purchase
I really liked this movie. There's a lot of plot twists, though it follows a tragic trajectory that many of these Mexican cartel movies entail. It has some rather funny bits that break the tension in this rather bleak world. The characters are heartless killers but discover even they have some limits of depravity. People saying the acting was bad? The acting was top notch. The story itself is very interesting. It's sad, ironic and has a sense surrealism with people existing and carrying out normal tasks in this landscape filled with death. If you enjoy these types of movies, Mexican Cartel action movies, you will probably enjoy this.

Pure propaganda. Would have given a zero if it was possible

Any movie that claims to be set on Mexico and claims to be about an aspect of Mexican society/culture and yet does not contain any Mexican actors is just propaganda designed to disparage the Mexican people. I would like to send a copy of this trash to an actual cartel in Mexico. I'm pretty sure they would know how to deal with these enemies of the Mexican people.

They tried too hard
Verified purchase
It started off with a good premise. But it went down hill really quick. They basically tried to ride on the Narcos coat tails but completely failed. Everything was bad the storyline, acting and directing.

4 star: I watched it, liked it well enough. Would never watch it again.
5 star: Great moving picture show! I'll watch it again, and maybe again in a few years.

Disgusting people doing disgusting things as violently as possible.

If you're into gruesome Mexican cartel stories, here's your movie. Merely weirdos doing despicable things for most of its length, than the script goes completely to hell in the last 20 minutes and delivers a ridiculous ending. I don't know how producers of garbage like this sleep at night. I don't know how script writers like this get their next jobs.

Cheesey! "Taco Bell mexican"
Verified purchase
It has good, suspenseful, background music and it's comically entertaining. The story and the acting, however, fall far from convincing. Also, it has nothing to do with Mexican. The actors don't talk Mexican, they don't look Mexican, and I'm pretty sure they're not in Mexico. They may as well have casted Speedy Gonzalez.

Such evil truth found in reality today.

It's a Character Study on how there's no honor among Cartels and gangsters in general. These people are ruthless and should be avoided at all cost. You'll find the movie thought provoking and mind boggling to say the least.
