I am a chemist by day and an author by night who lives in the cold wintry regions of New York. I dabble in many a subject when writing. Actually I dabble in life. I’ve tried archery with a long bow. Medieval reenactment with the SCA. Creating cosplay for Anime North. Watching anime. Reading manga. Writing fanfiction (I do not plan to post that here). Grew up in a comic book shop. Attending many a local, and not so local, convention on science fiction, anime, comics, or fantasy.

Another hit!

Just picked this up the other day and I'm cruising through it on my kindle. I'm usually kind of a slow reader (maybe a bit before I dose off every night), but these pieces are keeping me up, haha. The works are the perfect size to hook you, but finish in time before you feel like putting the book down. At least for me, anyway. Another anthology packed with gripping stories and moving poetry. Well done, authors! Keep up the steller curation, publisher.

Fun Collection of Stories

I picked up a paperback copy of Exploits in the Adirondacks after one of their local events, along with a copy of their first book Dark & Bitter. This is a great collection of stories and poems, set within or involving the Adirondacks. The genres vary from literary fiction to paranormal, to horror, to a fantastic poem about a dragon. I loved these stories and have been coming back to all week to sit down with the next story!

Perfect choice for reading on my trian ride

Take a little escape into the Adirondacks through the various stories and poems found in Exploits in the Adirondacks. The variety of writing styles and methods of storytelling offers something for everyone. The Adirondacks can provide spectacular views of vistas in every season with all kinds of weather. The authors have taken us to places of sheer delight, or intrigue, or suspense, into darkness or pure fantasy. I particularly enjoyed the elegant writing of JK Candlen in The Visit. I was drawn right into the story with the descriptive style. It was a lovely escape while I sat in the chair on Amtrak and took the various adventures with each author.

I can really feel the enveloping wonder of the Adirondack forest when I read this book, although some of the adventures are ones I'm glad I didn't experience. Especially noteworthy is the short story by Andy Lee, which touched my heart.

I enjoyed reading this book. There are a variety of story styles yes, there is one or two stories I did not like but I do not that style in general. I think it was a great read.

This was a great read. It's full of stories and poems (which were particular favorites of mine) all set in the Adirondack Mmountains. My favorite story was "Grandpa's Bears."
