2.0 out of 5 starsMeh. A waste of a talented cast.

I'm not sure what to think about this film, other than "Meh."
The great Hal Holbrook is wasted as a tottering old dementia-ridden fool. The fabulous Christine Lahti is wasted as the attention- and sex-grabbing old mother.
Just a waste of resources (and time). Too bad. It could have been something.

Frankly, was looking for something with Ian Anthony Dale (that gorgeous Amerasian actor)! He didn't even make an appearance until the very last, and it was just to get a pickup truck that one of the mediocre co-stars finally got to work!

Spoiler alert here. While this was a good story, I agree with others who faulted the script. I fault the casting of the Billie character who spoke like he had marbles in his mouth. Very hard to understand, wish it had subtitles for him. I also wish there was a scene which showed why the Sophie character seemed to like Harry, when she disliked everyone else. This relationship seemed unreal. Harry indicated he was a Navy pilot in Korea but talked about, and had pictures with an Air Force plane, the F-86 Sabre jet. The Navy's version was the FJ Fury but I don't think it saw much action in Korea. There the Navy's plane of note was the Panther jet, made famous in The Bridges at Toko-Ri. Liked the story though and despite the plot problems thought Maggie Grace and Hal Holbrook were very good.

Good shipping and quality standard DVD print, but story is kind of boring; not one of Jonathan Tucker's great roles
