Allie Hunter is playing a dangerous game for mortals.
From USA Today bestselling author Sarah K. L. Wilson comes a deliciously trope-filled - and now complete - young adult romantic fantasy about a viciously funny mortal girl and her quest to hunt, trap, and conquer powerful fae.
Allie thought she was saving her own mortality and stopping the Fae incursion when she killed the Balance - one of four Fae roles - and took a particularly essential Fae as her captive.
But Allie didn't think through the consequences. Now, she has one of the four roles of the Faewald. A role she must fulfill by force of magic.
Worse, the Blood Moon has risen in the Faewald and that means it is the time of the Wild Hunt.
Can Allie find a way to save her people while fleeing the Wild Hunt and fighting against a magic that seeks to control her?
It's still just one mortal girl against the Faewald, but now the stakes couldn't be higher.
For lovers of The Cruel Prince and An Enchantment of Ravens comes a world of violent fae, trickery, and magic. Grab the fourth book of the Tangled Fae series today!

About the author

I write timeless stories. Not the stories you think you want but the stories you don't know you desperately need.
I believe in happy endings and that it should take a lot of struggle to get to them.
I believe that sometimes violence is the answer, that sometimes no one is coming to save you, and that self-sacrifice is always worth it.
I believe in big twists and beginnings that start in the end.
I believe in heroic acts of bravery, that chaos sometimes trumps order, that there's humor in dark things, and that risks are what you make of them.
I believe in the someday that will make all things new.
And I believe in stories - sweeping, epic, glorious stories that renew our hearts and our hopes and refresh our minds like woodland streams.
Oh, and I'm a USA Today bestselling author. I suppose I should mention that.

So... This wasn't my favorite in the series. But I still loved it. But I didn't like how much Allie kept running away from Scourvel. I mean, I understand why. He was trying to kill her and all that.
But between the fighting they did and the Wild Hunt (which also wasn't my favorite), they were running all the time.
Also, I was a little confused about Allie's role as Balance. When she started growing her wings, Scourvel told her that she could make a choice. And to me, it sounded like she could choose to either be the Balance or not. But apparently, it was only about the wings? And that she didn't want to accept any part of the Fae or something like that?
I really like how Scourvel was trying to keep Allie's modesty.
And I love just about every scene that had Scourvel reading and flying, or just reading in general. It sounded like he really enjoyed the book and that he was trying so hard to understand humans so he could woo Allie. It was kinda sweet actually. Plus, it was also plot-relevant which was kinda cool.
Then of course there was the army of golems which was awesome! They added so much to the story.
Content in Book:
1. Passionate kisses. An unsettling desire that the Fae have with humans, lust. Seductive.
2. Violence. (Hunting animals for food. Beating people up. Hand-to-hand combat. Sword combat. War. Trying to drown someone in wine. Having someone cut off your ear in payment for something, then using that dismembered ear to paint a picture with the blood. Killing people then dismembering their remains to remove them. Shooting people with a bow. Nailing people onto a tree. Going to drown someone in blood to make them Fae. Heads on poles. The Wild Hunt, which is the equivalent of the dead coming back to haunt you. Etc.)
3. Kidnapping children.
4. Magic.
5. Tattoos that represent the magic.
6. People who went crazy after their torture.
7. The Dread Doors. Where the dead go.
Who I Would Recommend This Book Too:
Those who want a good book about evil Fae. Good versus evil theme. READ IT, IT'S MY FAVORITE!
The Faewald is so completely unique from every other take on it, that it becomes an entirely new thing, nightmarish and surreal.
This fourth book had me enthralled and I cannot wait for the final book to see how all the tangles are smoothed out.
I absolutely NEED more Ali and Scouvrel. This enemy to lovers slow burn trope is by far my favorite guilty pleasure.
The relationship between Allie an Scuveral is just so enthralling. You can’t decide if they love each other or hate each other.
And what you find out about the other characters is amazing too. I can’t wait for the next one!
