5.0 out of 5 stars Great twisted tale!
By Mindy F. on January 3, 2021
I finished my very first book of the year!🎊2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣1️⃣

“Fairest Of All: A Tale Of The Wicked Queen.” By Serena Valentino.

This book was my first “twisted fairytale” kind of book and I honestly really enjoyed it. I was unsure going into it because I’m normally a psychological thriller/horror book lover but I’m so glad I tried something new!

This is a story about The Evil Queen and Snow White. Remember those Disney movies we all grew up watching? 📚 here’s a twisted tale of it.

The story begins with “The Evil Queen”(her actual name was never mentioned in the book) being a normal working lady in the village. She started out so kind and eager for true love and a family of her own. She ends up running into a prince who instantly falls head over heels for her. ❤️ She goes from being a regular woman living with her father to being The Queen and having her very own kingdom. She falls in love with her new life of being a Queen, A Wife, and most of all a step-mother to her husbands daughter, Snow White. She happier than she has ever been....
Until, A tragedy happens. Leaving The Queen heartbroken. Her past begins to haunt her and we soon learn why everyone called her The Evil Queen to begin with.

We learn a lot about The Evil Queen’s childhood and past, and it definitely makes you look at her in different ways.

The Author does an amazing job keeping the reader interested, she leaves each chapter with a decent cliff hanger that kept me wanting to read more and more!

I enjoyed this book more than I intially thought I would, and I totally recommend it if this twisted fairy tale sounds appealing to you. 🖤 my only complaint is there were quite a few grammar mistakes through out the book but I was able to figure out what it was suppose to say and move on easily.

This is book 1 of several in the “Villians” series. I definitely plan on reading the rest of this series in the future!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea but not a fan.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 15, 2018
So I was really excited to read the Disney Villain stories but I actually found this one a little disappointing. I’m not sure what age range they are aimed at but I would suggest they would be ideal for your pre teens but not so great for an older audience. The writing was ok but a little juvenile and the font is quite large so the actual story is in fact quite short and only took me a couple of hours to get through. The cover is nicely illustrated and I’m sure they would be a great addition to any Disney fans collection but I personally found it a little underwhelming although I still like the idea of telling these well known fairy tales from a different perspective. Putting a new spin on it. At £6.99 I also think it is a little pricey. I am undecided whether to read the others in the series but if I do it’s safe to say I will be waiting until there is an offer on the RRP.
