What Worked For Me:
I absolutely adore Shayla Black’s Wicked Lover’s Series and Falling In Deeper is another spectacular addition to this exciting series! This is the story of Lily “Sweet Pea” Taylor. She is horribly traumatized and battered emotionally and I spent so much of this book heartbroken and hurting for her. While she is incredibly resilient, she thinks she is weak and the things she has suffered in her past have made it difficult to trust anyone and to enjoy any intimacy. I adored her. She was spirited, especially when trying to protect herself, and I liked her intensity. She was the absolute PERFECT match for the luscious bad-boy hero Stone. I utterly loved Stone and found him to be one of my favorite Wicked Lover’s heroes. He has an edge to him that was appealing without being overbearing but the way he patiently and thoroughly worshipped Lily, melted me. He was enraptured by her and every move he made in regards to her reflected that. These two had some amazing chemistry and while this book wasn’t inundated with over-the-top erotic scenes, the scenes that played out were intensely passionate and mind-blowingly decadent. They were also full of emotion and a little bit of humor, something that made this book feel even more intimate. We have an evil bad guy, yeah, this guy is Vile with a capital “V”….and then an even crazier plot twist that I didn’t see coming that was WHACKED! I loved it and it made the story more intense and engaging. I was completely enraptured, something Shayla Black’s books always have the tendency to do. They suck you in and take hold, making you want to remain in her fictional world for as long as possible. However, all books must come to an end and the ending was bittersweet but romantic, full of hope and promise and a lifetime full of new love for our hero and heroine. I never thought it was possible but this series just gets better and better!

Would I Recommend This Book:
Yes, especially to my BDSM loving, erotic romance, suspense loving romance reading friends.

I honestly had a really hard time getting into this one. I love the author and I have every other book in the series. I was super excited to find out Sweet Pea's past and learn what drove her to Shadows. This story just couldn't keep my attention past the first few chapters. I put it down and started over weeks after and still the same results. The story seems to be rambling a bit and the plot line just wasn't really believable to me. I mean computer nerd rich kid turns hot and harden criminal. And Lily ended up getting on my nerves the majority of the book. I love this series so I'll for sure keep reading it. Heath is up next and I'm sure that story will be more than hot. This one just hit the mark for me. Its not a bad story just not the story I was expecting .

*On a super positive note....some characters from the earlier books are in this story so you kinda get a glimpse at what's happening with the past crew. Have I mentioned that I LOVE Xander and Javier and Jack oh how I love Jack.*

Shayla has again captured my interest and my heart with one of her creations. In "Falling in Deeper", Shayla had constructed a backstory so traumatizing I felt the pain and anguish right down to my very bones. (No spoilers)

But more importantly, I could also see the strength Lily possessed and I'm sure you will too.

Any number of the things Lily experienced would've broken most people, and yes, she was emotionally detached for a long while. However, deep down, her spirit wasn't obliterated. We saw her come alive when Stone entered her life. We saw him come to life as well.

Death, heartache, lies, betrayal are all par for the course in this contemporary romance tale.

Of course, no Shayla Black story would be complete with the epic forgiveness scene because we all adore a HEA.

In a good way. There was definitely a lot of closure for Sweet Pea and for Stone, and that's more than you could ask for!

This story was so jam packed with intense situations. Sweet Pea has endured so much in her life it’s a wonder she was zoned out rocking herself in a corner somewhere. I liked how Stone had ulterior motives until he set eyes on her. Then things changed and he never gave up on her. Even when he found out how challenging it would be to work through all her past nightmares. So many things happens and even till the last bit of the book things happened that I never say coming.

I can't say enough how much I loved this book! Our hero, Stone, was just that... a true hero for our heroine, Lily. Stone was determined in his pursuit of her & always looked out for what was best for her. He changed his approach many times in order to sensitively deal with her abuse issues. Yet Stone refused to coddle her, helping the true Lily emerge. Great bad guys, awesome supporting cast/friends & hot, hot, sensitive sex. They grow to be the perfect pair together and I cried tears of joy at the way Ms. Black ended this fabulous story.

Very basic and poorly written, in my opinion. There is hardly any attempt for suggestion in the writing, the choice of words is common, the expressions are repetitive, the character's lines are unbearably cliché, the story holds no particular surprise, the drama is ridiculously over the edge and at some point really unnecessary... the lack of quality was so distracting that made it impossible for me to get involved in the story. I was very disappointed.

I was also stubborn and insisted on finishing the book, and one thing I must admit is that the author took her time to dedicate to and let the reader savor the erotic scenes.

Finally, the general fantasy of the sexy protective tough guy is honestly appealing. Unfortunately for me that is far from enough to consider it a good read.
