My only complaint is while I was eating my tuna(no crust of course I'm not a a barbarian) SWAT came into my house and disrespected my entire family.

Crime and racing The purest form of that concept in the 1st Fast & Furious
Verified purchase
The movie that started a franchise of a multi-cultural cast of men and women playing with fast cars and getting in trouble with the law. This was also the purest form of the concept.

The opening gives a hint of what the movie will be about as three supped up cars rob a moving big rig truck. Then things get to the heart of the matter as Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Ja Rule do some street racing. The mix of crime and cars would be the heart of the story as Walker was an undercover cop who suspected Diesel and his crew of carrying out the truck heists.

If you like racing and action then this was the perfect series and all the movies that came afterward showed that it was a winning combination.

Loud and dumb, but also surprisingly compelling.

The “Fast and Furious” franchise took off in 2001 with “The Fast and the Furious”. While the film was financially successful and a hit with audiences, there’s no way anyone could have predicted what would come of this 14 years later.
Undercover cop Brian O’Conner(Paul Walker) infiltrates a gang of street racers led by Dominic Toretto(Vin Diesel) who are suspected of pulling a series of ongoing heists. However, Brian soon forms a close bond with Dom and falls in love with his sister Mia. Brian must choose between his career and the family that he never had.
I know, right. This isn’t what you expected this film’s story to be about.
The acting in this film is great. Paul Walker is fantastic and Vin Diesel is also great, but Jordana Brewster’s performance as Mia is really a scene stealer. She makes Mia a believable character. You connect with all of them and feel what they’re going through.
What really makes this film stand out though is the heart. The film introduces great characters and makes them compelling. (Spoiler Alert) Brian is red in the face and almost in tears when he is forced to blow his cover in front of Dom. It’s things like that that make this film stick out and become memorable. It’s a loud vehicle for sure, but it’s got a heart beating under the hood.

Sound Recording seems Off.

For some unexplained reason, the sound playback has been troublesome.

playing on a 5.1 onkyo surround receiver with KEF speakers. no matter how U adjust my receiver, dialog volume is too low while sound effects are extremely loud. I don't have this issue with other sources including other bluray disks.

Give me my replacement please!

I gave this product a one star because my steelbook arrived damaged and with a huge horizontal scratch that went almost all across the top of the steelbook. Paul Walker’s forehead did not have to be done like that bro!

Besides that, the artwork and design of the steelbook is immaculate. The colors used for the steel feels like West Coast Customs gave it a paint job. I love Paul & Vin in the front cover as well as a portrait of the original F&F family inside.

I hope Amazon starts replacing damaged steels because we pay FULL PRICE for an undamaged and brand-new product.

A classic movie before It got all action , the best scene in the series is when Brian visits Mia and meets dom for the first time, and the tension with Brian and Vince is badass.

A $4 nostalgia trip.

This movie absolutely got ravaged by time. Not only is it no longer relevant in terms of car tech, but it is socially unacceptable. Subtle racism, fat shaming, women as sex objects, one liners, and your standard hokey high school film class tropes. I still like it, but be forewarned, if you didn't live through the 90s you may not understand half of it, and some of it may make you politically correct out there queasy.
