3.0 out of 5 starsI would have given it 2 stars if it were any other author

I hate to say this since if I could, I would give almost every other book by Dahners 6 stars and I have given every other one of his books 5 stars. I usually have some problems understanding the science in his books even though I was a science major, but al least, I could understand how it was being used. Here I not only had trouble understanding the "how it happens" but even the "how it's used." The main character, and I can't call him a hero, since he does nothing heroic- actually quite the contrary - is not particularly sympathetic and the supporting cast is not much better. The worst part of the book is the "best friend." He is rude, greedy, narcistic, mean and very stupid. I was hoping throughout the book that he would be killed off. There are absolutely no heroic uses of his power. He only used it to make money for himself. The only saving graces, (and this is the other reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2), is that the prologue and epilogue each mention an evil dictator and I assume he will use his power to stop him Also, he does meet up with a girl with a different power who, in previous stories, seems to be a much better person and hopefully, she will guide him. I am now reading the first Ell Donsai book to get the bad taste out.
