How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donโ€™t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

While I did enjoy the read I don't think it was as good as other ebooks Dahners has written. I will still be downloading the next in the series.

3.0 out of 5 starsI would have given it 2 stars if it were any other author
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on March 23, 2022
I hate to say this since if I could, I would give almost every other book by Dahners 6 stars and I have given every other one of his books 5 stars. I usually have some problems understanding the science in his books even though I was a science major, but al least, I could understand how it was being used. Here I not only had trouble understanding the "how it happens" but even the "how it's used." The main character, and I can't call him a hero, since he does nothing heroic- actually quite the contrary - is not particularly sympathetic and the supporting cast is not much better. The worst part of the book is the "best friend." He is rude, greedy, narcistic, mean and very stupid. I was hoping throughout the book that he would be killed off. There are absolutely no heroic uses of his power. He only used it to make money for himself. The only saving graces, (and this is the other reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2), is that the prologue and epilogue each mention an evil dictator and I assume he will use his power to stop him Also, he does meet up with a girl with a different power who, in previous stories, seems to be a much better person and hopefully, she will guide him. I am now reading the first Ell Donsai book to get the bad taste out.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good start for a new series

I have read all the series Mr. Dahners has written and I have enjoyed them all. This one is little to technical for my tastes but the ground work is now established maybe more of the story line will prevail in future installments

3.0 out of 5 stars Unpleasant Character

I really like Mr. Dahner's books featuring characters who find themselves with some unexpected super ability that allows them to excel and do good. The reader can vicariously have guilt-free pleasure in their accomplishments. This book introduces a person with a new super ability. But unlike the usual characters in these books, the protagonist in this one, though, is a rather unsympathetic character. He lets people push him around, he succumbs to base instincts, uses his ability to do wrong things, falls stupidly under bad influences and generally is pretty much a pitiful sap. For me, not as much fun to read. I assume he'll turn himself around in later episodes of the series, but he might just descend deeper into victimy.

I have been looking for a fun sci-fi book for a while and have always enjoyed Laurence Dangers in the past. This book doesn't dissapoint. It is fast moving and entertaining. At the same time it touches on science and ethics and romance.

This story line seems plausible even though somewhat outrageous. Well told and good dialogue leads the reader easily from story line to story line. Will definitely follow up on more.

Good story, consistent action and story line, good character development. Hard science fiction pretty well explained. I look forward to book two.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not his best

I have read some of his other works and really liked it. I like that he puts the science in science fiction. However in this one he gets a bit too carried away with all the 10x 100x 400x .0000002 x speeds and some of the explanations. It drags the story down. I hope the next book is better, because I love time travel stories. Even though this isn't quite that.
Also the beginning says this is a part of a loose series, but it only ever brings the short story from Six Bits into this book. I assume the next one will do more

This is the first in a new series and it is off to a great start! The story starts with a high school student who finds he can speed up time and goes on to experiment on what else he can do. There in lies the adventures and what do you do with that power?

Started slow but then took off. I really liked the byplay between the smart "Wittless" and his best friend.

Great for YA and older readers.

Nicely done. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I hope there will be at least one more. Based on the excerpts, there should be. I enjoyed you including Eva through the storyline. Also, I liked the ability to exist in others, yet go basically unnoticed and/or understood. Thank you. My hope is you write many more.

Dahners stories always interest and entertain me. This one was enjoyable with plenty of twists and avenues not followed. The time flow control is interesting and as is Witt`s control struggle. Couple this with a semi-dysfunctional family having serious money problems and you have a story that end too soon, begging for the sequel. Enjoy.
