Editorial Reviews

Review

"Peter is a pioneer, an adventurer, an inventor and a seer. His advice is the best kind of advice.  It is advice learned in the trenches, in the arena, on the fields of life."
--Edward Hallowell, MD, from the Foreword, bestselling author of Driven to Distraction

“Peter Shankman is living proof that living outside the bell-shaped curve, combined with a drive to succeed, can produce amazing results.”
--Jordan D. Metzl, MD, author of The Exercise Cure

“While ADHD may be considered a ‘deficit’ to some, Shankman positions it as an attribute within the context of our immediate future. ADHD is a unique gift of creative synthesis that makes sense only inside of the complex digital networks and hyper-stimulation that now defines us.”
--Amanda Steinberg, CEO, Worth Financial and author of Worth It

Peter Shankman is a spectacular example of what happens when you find the best traits of ADHD and work really hard to make them benefit you.

Diagnosed at seven years old with “sit down, you’re disrupting the class” disease, Peter wasn’t formally diagnosed with ADHD until his mid-30s. By that time, however, he’d started and sold two companies, and realized that all the differences that formerly labeled him as a troublemaker were actually his greatest assets. After Peter sold his third company, (Help a Reporter Out,) he decided to focus on really understanding this “faster brain” of his, and learning exactly what it could do. From that, the Faster Than Normal podcast and bestselling book were born.

Peter believes that everyone has gifts, potential, and abilities far beyond what society has deemed “normal,” and strives to help bring those gifts to life in as many people as he can through his podcast, books, online videos, and countless worldwide speaking appearances. He can be found at @petershankman on all of the socials, and at www.shankman.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADHD can be a gift!!! You just need to learn how to use it
By Christopher S Reimer on October 3, 2017
Received the book one day ahead of launch, sat down, and finished it in one sitting. As the parent of a child who some have surmised might have ADHD, I wanted to understand more about it. All I see in my daughter is brilliance - she’s like a poet when she speaks, and she gets bored when BORING tasks or topics are placed before her. I get her, but I wanted to be armed with the facts.

A bonus: I don’t have ADHD, but I still came away with some excellent tips on getting in shape, getting organized ... basically becoming a more productive person. And I trust Peter – he might have ADHD, but he’s someone who can write an entire book on an 18-hour flight. He has mastered focus!

Great advice to those with ADHD, those who live with people with ADHD, those who have kids with ADHD. Thank you for this book, Peter!
