A Governor Named Newsome - How Prescient!
Verified purchase
This movie is remarkable in this day and age - so fore-telling and relatable to our current situation. Iut's UNCANNY. There's a Governor Newsome... who behaves so similarly to the current Governor Newsome even in appearance. The ending was so stark - there needs to be a part 2. The acting, writing, direction is fine, this is a very worthy watch!

We never learn

This movie is 15 years old and many of the mistakes in the movie have been made in real life as our current situation proves.

What, was Nostradamus on the script writing team. This is almost like looking at current news. Well done ... 4 stars as it lacks a level of pathos that has been present in one or two other films (e.g. Contagion). Written more as a cautionary docu-drama than a cinematic effort at fictional depiction.

Worth a watch if you like virus movies

Warning this movie does not have a happy ending, in fact it ends on a pretty sad note. But it does have good acting and is very prophetic for what we have gone through globally this past 2 years. If you like virus movies like I do then I say watch it. I particularly enjoyed the beginning when they show how easily germs spread in public.

No, it's not a good movie...

So, it's being shown as a choice on Prime. Well, how about that! Well, babies don't you panic, for by the light of the night we'll all see the light I'll get you a Santanic Mechanic! It's over the top shmaltz. Made to stir up the fear that is already there. Actors! Stilted responses too, e.g., the young nurse woman sees the mother dead, the father shoots himself in the head in front of their crying baby. The nurse just stands there like a person badly directed and with a poor script a doll...a sane person would have run over to the baby to get it out of harms way...but not this stupid movie. Oh, and Newsom with the hair...no a bouffont (spelling I don't care like the character)

This is what a real pandemic looks like

The movie was pretty good. It depicts what a real pandemic is really like. Unlike the plandemic we are currently going thru. Nothing we are doing now comes close to what is shown in this film. Shows clearly that we are being lied to in 2021.

Prescient in too many ways, but not in others from the perspective of 2022.

The one thing this movie did not get right was that one political party would politicize a health crisis to help themselves politically. Goodness, who could have imagined that people could do such a thing? But right there is the major weakness in this otherwise wonderful movie.

Imagine if this nightmare 2006 movie was just entertainment, but actually, it is somewhat predictave in ways we’d never have expected, nor would those making it.

In 2022 we live in a time when people would rather risk illness than a vaccine. Thank goodness this was not the case during polio. But, whatever. This is an intriguing show. Worth watching.
