The natives have a resistance group trying to survive without the space-faring groups and a queen-like "Dwyr". As the book progresses, people from King Arthur's time are liberated from stasis after more than 1000 years. Arthur is strong and heroic but speaks an old English that hasn't been spoken in at least 800 years. Merlin is an "alien". While Arthur seems to breathe, neither Merlin nor Morgan need food or air, which may explain how they could survive for hundreds of years. Arthur's chain mail is still useful after all the intervening centuries.
Relatively speaking, the BA troops slowly are the good guys and the EAC are the bad guys. The natives have learned to hate the British white supremacy rule, BA or EAC. The Dwyr is striving to embellish her power and control before the Arthurian era people appear.
I found it difficult to follow the story as different groups get focus.
The Space ships have some fancy technology like weapons that cause molecular disintegration as well as the old stand bys of rail guns and beams. An unforgettable dark cloud associated with Merlin was able to stop space ships and incapacitate humans by overriding their thought process.
This book is for fantasy enthusiasts and should have a special appeal to followers of the King Arthur legends. There were a few short interludes of people caring about each other. For the most part, the characters are fighting or just merely expressing hate; joy and happiness are rare. A BA commanding officer (Major Wright) and a marine (Taylan Ellis) are the only people who listen to each other in a burgeoning relationship.
Taylan Ellis is getting closer to finding her children. Merlin has joined Arthur and the two, with Taylen's, help are heading to destroy the Dwyr and her empire. So much is happening with battles on earth and in space that you will shake your head wondering what next.

But now there is an alien on her ship, who knows Arthur. And she has an enemy on earth looking for her.
But all she wants to do is leave the military and find her kids. After all, it seems like no one likes her here in the military, except maybe her commanding officer, and she cannot get together with him because of well, military rules...
Charming and written from three different perspectives. This is a great series.

A bit more flesh on the bones of the story.
I can't wait for the next part, very well done.
