So this one parallels some of the parts of season one, with characters who get mad. And it even has the "If You Feel so Mad..." song lyrics in there. Which, my son, he loves music, loves singing, and I had been using that song with him. So me pairing that with reading this book worked really well to engage his interest, and now he even growls at the roar part and will blow out at the take a deep breath part and I'm about ready to freak out, that's how happy I am with how this has turned out!
Overall, I think this is a cute, solid board book that teaches a positive approach to channeling anger (taking a deep breath and counting to four), and my little guy is kind of like a volcano, mostly gentle dormant protests, but he does like to blow up from time to time, so I love that there is a companion book to go with the song I can now read to him to help reinforce gentle means of blowing off the steam. I love it!
EDIT: When my sons acting up my husband brings up this book. Daniel Tiger likes to sing a song in this book… when you feels so mad & you want to roar take a deep breath and count to 4 (think it is)? He's heard the songs from the show/dvds but also sees it in the book. Helps calm him down.
It's not a full story, but snippets from a few segments of episodes.
What makes me love a book, is reading it to kids who truly love and enjoy them. These are a huge hit here, and i enjoy reading and singing it to my kids. Had these a very short time and have lost track on how many times it's asked to be read. Great buy!

My two-year-old daughter enjoys reading it - sings along to the song and has been using the strategy in real life!
