Using the soul-destroying Anti-Life Equation, Darkseid is remaking the heroes, villains and everyday people of Earth in his dark image...and destroying the very fabric of reality itself in the process. Now superheroes from around the world--and across the Multiverse--must make a last, desperate stand against the forces of Anti-Life. Will Earth endure? And when the Crisis reaches its climax, who will make the ultimate sacrifice?
From the mind of genre-defining writer Grant Morrison comes FINAL CRISIS, one of the most epic events ever to hit the DC Universe! In this Omnibus edition, every chapter in the groundbreaking saga is presented together in reading order, including never before collected issues. From writers Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka and more comes the FINAL CRISIS OMNIBUS, a deconstruction of superhero comics at large and a challenging, thought-provoking take on the modern four-color icons.

About the Author
Geoff Johns is an award-winning writer and one of the most popular contemporary comic book writers today. Johns is the author of the New York Times best-selling graphic novels Aquaman: The Trench, Blackest Night, Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War, Justice League: Origin, Superman: Brainiac and Batman: Earth One which hit number one on the bestseller list. He is also known for transforming Green Lantern into one of the most critically and commercially successful franchises in comics. Johns has written for various other media, including episodes of Smallville, Arrow, and Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, for which he was nominated along with his co-writers for an Emmy. He is the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment and resides in Los Angeles, California.
George Pérez started drawing at the age of five and hasn't stopped since. Born on June 9, 1954, Pérez began his professional comics career as an assistant to Rich Buckler in 1973. After establishing himself as a penciller at Marvel Comics, Pérez came to DC in 1980, bringing his highly detailed art style to such titles as Justice League of America and Firestorm. After co-creating The New Teen Titans in 1980, Pérez and writer Marv Wolfman reunited for the landmark miniseries Crisis On Infinite Earths in 1985. In the aftermath of that universe-smashing event, Pérez revitalized Wonder Woman as the series' writer and artist, reestablishing her as one of DC's preeminent characters and bringing in some of the best sales the title has ever experienced. He has since gone on to illustrate celebrated runs on Marvel's The Avengers, CrossGen's Solus, and DC's The Brave and the Bold.
Born in 1963 in the Year of the Rabbit, Doug Mahnke embarked on a love affair with comics at the age of five. He landed a job drawing comics for Dark Horse at the age of 24. Doug and writer John Arcudi collaborated on Dark Horse’s The Mask and their creator-owned series Major Bummer, originally published by DC. Since then Doug has worked on a wide variety of titles (including Superman: The Man Of Steel, JLA, Batman, Team Zero, Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein, Black Adam: The Dark Age and Stormwatch: P.H.D.) with such writers as Joe Kelly, Judd Winick, Chuck Dixon, Grant Morrison, Christos Gage and Ed Brubaker, just to name a few. He lives in the midwest with his wife and six kids, one dog, and a bunny named Suzie.

So, depending on how you feel about this, you'll love it or hate it... or maybe you won't think much of it at all. For me, personally, I found it irritating.
The Legion chapters were fantastic! 3 Legion of superheroes from alternate timelines, you can imagine some of the incredible pages!
Most of the book was a lead up to what I imagined to be an epic grand finale, but it wasn't. I had to go back and reread a few pages because I missed the ending!
I'd recommend this if you're a big fan of this period and want a lot to read. Otherwise it's unnecessary and I'd just get the trade paperback. The essential edition with all the extras is only $15.99 (at the time of this review).
The story had some mind blowing moments but the end was convoluted. Panels seemed to contradict themselves and was kind of confusing.
The Good:
The artwork done by the various artists in most cases is nicely done. Since the story spans multiple comics you will get a nice range of styles. This is also a nice way to get the whole story without having to track down all the books and crossovers.
The Bad:
Even though it is the complete story, I felt that it assumes the readers are somewhat familiar with the more important characters. I am mostly a Marvel fan, so I have not read anything in the DC Universe in awhile. While reading this book I kept asking myself "Who is this person, and why are they focusing on him/her?" There is also a sequence in the book that has "3 D" pages interspersed which requires you to use the glasses provided. I found it to be extremely annoying an totally unnecessary. The worst is that some of the 3 D effects were on colored pages, and when you put the Red/Blue glasses on the colors looked horrible.
In short, it was an interesting story that was nicely put into a single package. Nothing really stood out, however, so I feel it's only "OK" at best.
