We never know a person troubles. "I'm fine, I'm Great, I'm Good"... Those are just natural responses to "How are you". I saw the pain in her eyes because I to have experienced it with a young daughter myself. Going days without food just so that she could possibly have a McDonald's meal at least twice a month.

The things that parents will and should do to protect their child from emotional trauma. This movie was great.

Don't hire your relatives to act!

Just no! This movie could have been so much better, but the acting was horrible from the main characters except the young girl.
I liked the writing and the scenes around Pacoima, but an ok script with bad actors makes an unenjoyable film. And why would Deon Cole sign off on this AND play that awful character?

I'm fine mirrors a lot of stories of women who struggle just to keep things together for their children.
