There were a number of incredible stories in "The Fire from Within" that highlight the difference between how I was taught Reiki and how I teach Reiki. I wonder if all teachings can claim these big differences or if they are specific to the naguals.
All in all, this was a good read for anyone who enjoys reading about different ways to work energy.
Wisdom is revealed that living things are assemblages of sentient superstrings and that we may rearrange our assemblages to be free of the limitations of the world we perceive. We. are entangled. We can seek freedom through the creation of the double and engage in non-local activities. There exist sentient beings who are not inhabitants of our current world view, the inorganic beings. There is so much more to reality than the outdated paradigm of mechanical materialism.
Those who criticize this as a rehashing of other ancient wisdom teachings definitely did not understand what was said here. Those who criticize this work for lack of character development must have mistakenly thought they were reading a fictional novel and not a true accounting of tales which transcend the ordinary.
Warning, you cannot comprehend this through intelligence and ego, you must have some experience with the higher forms of perception, the second and third attention: or at least some experiences with deep meditation or 'the seventh sense'. This book is about stopping the mind and accessing direct perception. If you are a searcher for higher wisdom and have experienced more than the ordinary, then this book is a timeless treasure.
The Fire From Within is the last teachings on the art of awareness. Don Juan and Don Genaro walk Carlos through deep territory and vast realms. The worlds beyond peripheral are fantastic and the lessons imbued with transcendent meaning. To truly grasp the full depth of this writing takes something that you won't have on the first reading and may never have. To get it takes a mind of resolve.
Read it; don't read it. It all depends on you.
It is thought, that if one can do this successfully, repeatedly, he can face anything the universe can throw at him. This is the subtle art of becoming Impeccable.
Also reccomended in the superhero 101 collection is Bouris Mouravieff's Gnosis I, Ouspensky's In Search of the Miraculous, and everything by Georges Gurdjieff.
Fight the Future, Save the World.

So in this book is that the sorcerer repeatedly alters Castaneda's states of consciousness, and whenever he enters another one he has no recollection of the other (except for the normal one). And guess what: it turns out he's been doing it all along! So basically he only remembers what happened in a certain state of consciousness when he's in it, which explains the inconsistencies in the previous books -- and I couldn't help thinking that this is exactly what he's doing!
He spends much of the book trying to explain inexplicable things on which -- consequently -- he does a quite poor job, thats a bit bad if you start reading it as fiction. But either way it's a nice read, pretty inspiring and at times very interesting. When I was reading it I often taught of Márquez, who makes me believe (more subtly) that magic is still happening, except of course he's a better author. But Castaneda' not bad either..

after haveing read it i now know why it is definitly the weakest of the bucnch and far to complicated
if i were to recomend a book from this auther it would be THE POWER OF SILENCE
dont bother with this.

I really enjoy reading these series of books, they go far deeper to answering the questions about our purpose than anything else that I have ever read.
