The author's atypical choices in choosing and naming some of these vehicles is distracting and actually tends to disrupt learning in some cases.
The pictures are good and my Grandson does enjoy them so I let him name the vehicle and if his description is accurate...We go with it rather than try to match the authors word choice.
When it came I decided to open it up to see what it was about. I didn't realize it was going to be a smaller book. (Again, impulse buy) The first page I open to has a "Bomb Squad Truck." Really? Then I started flipping around the pages. I immediately looked at the cover to make sure I got the book I ordered. I then ran to the dictionary to double check the definition of truck. Whoever wrote this book has a really good sense of humor.
Anyway, I'm glad I didn't read the reviews. My nephew loves trucks, I might not have purchased this if I realized how many were not trucks. Well. He freaking loved this book. He wouldn't set it down and insisted on taking it to bed and to nap with it for WEEKS. Even now, months later he was visiting my parents for thanksgiving, and kept asking for "100 trucks" to be read before bed. If you've got a kid who likes trucks and tractors and things of that nature buy this book. The age group this is designed for is probably not as critical as adults. Maybe it will help them keep an open mind about things or teach them about flexibility.
Like other reviewers have noted, though, it is maybe half trucks. The rest are a variety of other vehicles - bus, car, plane, train, boat, etc. It's a great book, but terribly named. It should be named "First 100 Vehicles" or something like that. It worked out really well for us, because my kid loves all vehicles and was excited to see everything in this book. I actually think it's better with a variety of vehicles, but that's not how it's presented to the buyer. It's a fantastic book, but if you're expecting 100 actual trucks, you will be disappointed.

- it made by hard paper and it is durable and will not be easily broken by kids.
- it is also water proof
- the size is not too big or too small. It just fit toddlers’ hands.
The drawback is that the title is not fit the content . There are not only trucks in the book. It also has trains, planes and boats. My son only focus on the pages have trucks.
