After reading the reviews, I almost didn’t order this book. I am happy to announce that the typo in the back cover has been fixed! (See pictures attached) I ordered two. Big and colorful board book for my bilingual friends!
I'm really giving it a 2.5. Some of the words are used twice making it a cop out, and the words used could be difficult for a child to grasp. Like a picture of a combine of some sort has the "word" 'things that move' How is a small child supposed to articulate that? But the ones that make sense are great. We are a bilingual family and it's important to us that our daughter learned both languages. She seems to enjoy the book.
This book was just alright. It’s not really 100 words because a lot of the words were repeated, like fish is in there 3 times and so is duck, a few of the translation was incorrect and also they didn’t even bother to translate banana.
Okay so Im disappointed with the book. A lot of words repeated themselves in it and a lot of the words were slang words as well. Also, I suppose it’s my fault for not looking for what kind of Spanish book I was buying but I don’t believe they state where they’re book is from. This is not Mexican Spanish nor Spain Spanish. A lot of the words were very different from both Spain’s Spanish and Mexico’s Spanish.
The pictures are all jammed up close to each other with no white space. I can’t imagine trying to read or learn from this with so many pictures jammed up against each other. They should have shown pictures from inside the book—perhaps this is why they don’t. Either increase the pages and put some white space in or reduce the amount of words. Sadly I’m returning today.
Looked nice, but not 100 words. Many words are repeated. Pictures are not always self explanatory. But if just want a look at book, it would do. I got it as my granddaughter is actually learning Spanish speaking so I was not impressed with the book.
Good : colorful, lots of words, big pictures, well translated Bad : some words are almost phrases when translated to Spanish. Like Silla de Comer. For a little kid would be hard to learn and pronounce. Also has some repetitive words. Mine has 17 months and love it. Of course he only has learned so far basic words like Dog Cat Car.
