I laughed through when movie while Cube and Morgan are trying to rob a church. Funny premise. And these filmmakers know how to include faith, and not fake faith, and still not preach while making an awesome comedy. True Hollywood movies succeed in this like no other
Durell Washington (Ice Cube) loves his son and he doesn't want him to move to Atlanta. The only way the two of them will be able to stay together is if he can come up with a large sum of money. It's not his idea to rob a church, but he goes along with it and all kinds of problems arise.
First Sunday has good actors and a few good messages. I don't think this comedy would have been very funny, though, if it wasn't for Katt Williams. The movie became enjoyable when his character, Ricky, was introduced. I always appreciate a good belly laugh and Katt's quick-witted comebacks were hilarious! I don't think I'd be interested in his raw standup comedy, but he was great in this movie. He's so good at what he does, I wouldn't be surprised if he adlibbed the entire time.
Great show about changing one's heart. Funny and representative of life. Ice Cube tries to be a tough guy but you can see his real heart through the facade like in Are We There Yet. He is a good actor with good facial expressions. One would think Chi McBride really is a pastor, looks, thinks, acts and talks just like one. A good show teaching how we need to look to someone's heart and not what they put on the surface.
5.0 out of 5 starsIce Cube is back at it again with this raucous comedy 😂

Ice Cube’s movie roles in the “Barbershop” and “Are We There Yet?” franchises have emphasized his cuddly, family-man side. In “First Sunday,’ Ice Cube departs a bit from the upright-citizen persona, playing a man driven to crime by desperate circumstances. What kind of person would rob a church? This question occupies most of the movie’s talking middle third, in which an easy in-and-out safecracking scheme turns into a hostage drama. Watch and see 😅
Excellent comedy as i like to say `feel good film' well written the way the two main characters banter back and forth well rounded cast superb performances from katt Williams had me in stitches if you liked next Friday and Friday after next defiantly worth sticking your hand in your pocket and giving it the once over then guarantee you will watch it again and again
