The Five Levels of Attachment: Toltec Wisdom for the Modern World Kindle Edition
Do you hold your beliefs? Or do your beliefs hold you?
In this groundbreaking work, don Miguel Ruiz Jr. writes that we have all unwittingly made agreements about how we think we should live our lives and what we believe our personal truths are.
But what most of us do not realize is that each one of these agreements represents an attachment, a limiting filter on who we think we are, and what our future could hold.
The Five Levels of Attachment provides you with a measuring stick to understanding how tied you are to any belief, idea, or opinion. Each level represents how controlled you are by your own particular way of thinking.
Armed with the awareness of which beliefs and ideas you are most attached to, you can better navigate the recurring situations in your life that cause you suffering, release any unhealthy beliefs that are no longer serving you, and create a future that is in alignment with your true and authentic self.
"Don Miguel Ruiz Jr.'s beautifully written mini-guide, The Five Levels of Attachment, is intended to follow up his father's bestseller, don Miguel Ruiz Sr.'s The Four Agreements.
Both authors are known as naguals, masters of transformation of the ancient system of Toltec wisdom, specifically the "Eagle Night" lineage. The Five Levels of Attachment cites a collection of Ruiz Sr. quotes, Don Quixote passages, and personal adventures of the author himself to illustrate his points and help readers relate.
The five levels addressed are: Authentic Self, Preference, Identity, Internalization, and Fanatacism. Ruiz Jr. very simply lays out how our personal belief systems are conditioned from a very early age. We naturally develop preferences and make judgments as well. This book will walk readers through essays to question their own beliefs and look outside the box of their personal attachments. Ruiz Jr. provides simple steps for readers to take action, pausing before jumping to conclusions and giving them permission to experience an alternate story to their conditioned "attachments" that can be applied in any situation.
The concepts discussed are not new, but Ruiz Jr. brings a fresh, very masculine and straightforward approach to changing thoughts and behavior that will result in powerful spiritual growth."--Allyson Gracie, Wellness Specialist, Retailing Insight, March 2013
"Don Miguel Ruiz Jr., my first son, belongs to a new generation of artists (Toltecs) who are transforming the way of life of our beloved humanity." -don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Agreements --This text refers to the hardcover edition.

I also love Heather Ash Amara for you ladies that want to find your true inner strength.
I've tried reading non Toltec books, and it just doesn't have the same impact. This study, or belief... it hiys home in ways that others don't.
I was raised Christian and read a few books focused on similar things but around God or Christianity and I just find them to be lacking impact. It might be my own blocks getting in the way here, but I prefer Toltec. They are highly inclusive of all believes and at least they habe the right approach by accepting all. Something many can learn from!
