He's the ruthless patrón of the Guzman cartel... she's a nerdy, naïve software analyst, nursing a broken heart, poolside in Ensenada.

Loved the characters...not just the H and h, but a few of the secondary characters as well, some of whom have or will have their own story. I particularly liked Francisco and Juan Diego, the very flamboyant, wealthy and popular gay couple! They were hilarious...especially Juan Diego! It is at their annual summer bash of the year where the h and H meet.
She initially doesn't know he runs a drug cartel. She believes he is just an extremely wealthy businessman. He does have some legitimate businesses, but 50% of his income is from his drug cartel. The story revolves around him trying to keep his cartel involvement from her and her trying to come to terms with it when she finally learns the truth...though she admits maybe she just didn't want to know the truth in the beginning, even when the signs were there.
Take your Cartel love story, add in a dirty CIA agent along with a female agent causing trouble in the bidding love affair, posing as the H's wife (without his knowledge or consent) to gain access to and trust of a Columbian cartel member, a rival Mexican cartel trying to encroach on the H's territory and kidnappings and you've got the works for a lot of intrigue and a few roadblocks to the HEA.
If you like the concept of knights in tarnished armor (bad boys who love hard and will do anything to prove to the ones they love), and strong outspoken women who are just a little vulnerable, this is for you.

I’m not sure if this will spoil others but going to go back to book one and see how they all link.
I did enjoy Sophia & Rambo’s story but at times wanted to slap her for being so stupid when he repeatedly told her of the dangers of being alone.
