3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of holes in plot. Spoilers!

The first 100 pages were slow getting into it. The main character is a hot mess, and honestly, she’s not very likable. She continually makes one stupid decision after another. I can forgive this- in that not all main characters need to be painted as a strong heroine. It also adds to the book’s mystery in that the reader must ask themselves if she is crazy or legit. The author repeats several ideas way too many times- Chloe’s fears, Chloe needing meds to cope, etc. The ending also did not do it for me. You suspect from the beginning that the Father is innocent- but he never says anything after 20 years? And the mother is just as guilty? The author also tried really hard to distract from who the real killer is by framing Daniel- but she took it too far. And then the confession. Why did Cooper start killing girls again after 20 years? I’m not sure if it was even clear if it was Tyler that actually killed them or Cooper. And how could Cooper have made him do it?

And then come to find out he killed Tara when he was 14? And then waited a year to kill Lena who supposedly knew along and instead of telling anyone liked to hold it over him? She makes comments about him driving but he was only 15 when the Dad was convicted.

Overall I enjoyed reading it- but I feel like it could have been tied up much more nicely. Cooper could have had a weird obsession with controlling his sister and that’s why he started killing again in order to get her fiancé out of her life because he was use to it just being the two of them. A theory like this would have made more since.
