Verbal Assault, Not Entertainment
One Episode and OUT

Re: Vulgarity in series “Forever”
I know, rampant use of the F word in entertainment is now common, and I DON’T LIKE IT ONE BIT.
In this series, the dialog is sprinkled with F bombs left and right including an award winning combination of F bomb, Mother, and Christ to describe how cold it is in snow. “Wow, it’s Freeeezzing out here” wasn’t edgy enough.
Normalizing nonsensical vulgarity is WRONG. Not only does it make us look like a culture of illiterate idiots who don’t know how to use language, but it also creates a cruder environment for us all to live in. You may dismiss this idea, but what you broadcast filters down. Personally, I don’t need children F bombing me. That’s not the kind of world we need. Not now, not ever.
Somehow, script writers from prior generations were able to write blockbusters without vulgarity. It’s use was rare and actually added to the story line. Vulgarity used every other word is useless to a storyline, clogs up the dialog, and is the refuge of the unimaginative and unskilled writer.
C’mon Amazon, we seek entertainment not verbal assault. Do your part to make the world a better place to live.

This show gave me perspective
This show is refreshing! In addition to having a great cast, soundtrack, and writers, all very crucial for making an exciting new tv show, 'Forever' has a message. One that festers from within, one that I struggle with on a daily basis. It's never too late to shake up your life, to try something new. Paired with humor and quiet moments that give you time to digest everything happening in the episode, I found this show to be my favorite of 2018 thus far. I give it 5 stars and can only hope for more seasons to come.

This Must Be What Hell Is Like
The first two episodes are incredibly slow, so of course, people will tell you to just power through them and (more importantly) not to read any reviews because OMG THERE'S A SURPRISE. Then the next episode is slow and... and the next one and... good lord, if this isn't hell, it's at least purgatory.

Even "The Surprise" cannot alleviate the tedium of this methodical, obvious relationship autopsy. Watching this show is like being on a Greyhound bus, staring out the window, waiting for something interesting to happen, hoping you'll eventually get somewhere...

... but then it's just more sitting on the bus, being forced to listen to someone who has nothing to say. If you're in a "relationship" where someone is making you watch this show, I'm so sorry. Maybe you could read a book on your phone. Maybe you could make an excuse and go out for a walk. Maybe you really should get up and leave, because you'll eventually want to die, or at least hope that your spirit will rise up out of your body and leave. This must be what football is like for people who hate football.

People who tell you to keep watching a boring show because "no, really, it gets better, and there's a TWIST" are the worst.

No Spoilers: There is *literally* a scene about the excitement of turning on a light switch, and that's a high point.

The word "mundane" has two meanings: 1) lacking interest or excitement; dull and 2) of this earthly world rather than a heavenly or spiritual one. 'Forever' is not only dull, but also, it remains trapped in this earthly world, where you will pray for the sweet release of death, but to no avail. No, not even death can save you. Your tormented spirit will linger, at least until you turn off this dreadful show.

Wait, here's a better simile: 'Forever' is like being beaten with a hammer over and over again. Walk away while you still can, because this show really does feel like it lasts forever. Don't walk. Just run away. Say no to hammers. You've been warned.

TL;DR boring af

First a confused look, then a confused grin, then a confused smile
What an unusual show. This truly is a show that will cause you to think about it hours after you’re done watching. Oh, and good luck watching one a day after episode 2... for me this was impossible and I binged the entire season.

I can’t put my finger on what makes this show amazing. I guess how much is unexplained is refreshing. My drive to learn more. The chemistry between Fred and Maya is I credible.

I truly hope the show comes back so I can see where they are at the start of season 2!

Don't stop watching after 1 or 2 episodes
If you watch only the first episode, you have no idea what this show is about. If you watch only the first 2 episodes, you have no idea what this show is about. It has few good laughs, but mostly the tone is melancholy. Don't expect it to be a comedy. If you can receive at the wavelength it is playing at, you may love it. I do.

Not a typical comedy
Not the kind of comedy I'm used to seeing either of these actors in, although the characters are similar to others they've done. There is a mixture of dry humor and the current "awkward" humor trend. The story is fairly interesting, the cinematography and editing are appealing. I do agree that parts of it are a bit boring, however I think that's kind of the point in some cases. There are parts where you think "I'm so bored watching them do the same thing everyday I wish they'd do something with their lives," and then you're like, "oh, maybe I should be doing something with my life instead of just watching TV all the time." There are also parts where they just spend too much time on a scene and you make good use of that 10sec skip.

Show ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger but not so much so that if it doesn't get picked up for a second season you won't be yearning for answers.

I think part of the purpose of this show is to make you think and reflect on your own life, while also telling a mysterious-ish story, and including some comedy. It's not the most revolutionary show, but it's worth watching.

Very original and mysterious
I need answers and more episodes asap. The perfect series - Maya and Fred, and they get to walk on the bottom of the ocean. This is a show that needs to have hundreds of episodes. Unique in a world of laughed track remakes.

A bit slow, but kept me hooked.
First 2 eps are a bit slow. Ep3 is where the story really begins. It's a dive into long relationships, with enough oddity to keep it interesting.
