This book gives you a practical guide on unpacking the beautiful yet dense material that makes up the original four agreements. If you were going on the cheap side you can just buy your standard cheap notebook and do your homework on that but if you are looking for more formalized work, this workbook comes in very handy for that. To me The four agreements is a Bible and this is another tool within The four agreements to help me further my knowledge of there wisdom. I wrote that it's useless unless you really care about The four agreements and I stand by that statement: you have to really understand the agreements before you can use the tools this book gives you

This book expands and goes with the book "The Four Agreements". It is a short but very spiritual and powerful book.
This book is a guide to the 4 agreements.
In a nutshell, the four agreements are:

The Four Agreements are very simple, but very profound. To embrace and live each of the Four Agreements is to find yourself experiencing personal freedom--possibly as never before. The Four Agreements are:

- Be Impeccable With Your Words
- Don't Take Anything Personally
- Don't Make Assumptions
- Always Do Your Best

-When he says be Impeccable With Your Word, he means you should always speak,with integrity. Only say what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
-'when he tells us Don't Take Anything Personally, he means that nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
- when he says Don't Make Assumptions, he means you must find the the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
- When he says Always Do Your Best, he means your best is going to change from moment to moment, but you must simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

This is a very profound book that could really help less you to a very good place in life.

I read both together so it is a bit hard to separate the two. I really found these books to be very helpful. Recently someone was harping at me about something they didn't like. I didn't take what they said personally. I apologized for what I honestly thought I needed to apology for, but then inside I let the rest just pass through me without becoming disturbed. That creates such peace inside of me where before I would have become very upset with myself for well... upsetting someone else. It is so much more realistic to stand in the space of saying that I know not everything is about me. That agreement about not taking everything personally is the one I am working on the most so that is the best example. All of the agreements are helpful.

This is a very good Companion book, mostly for the ones who have just gotten into implementing the Four Agreements into their lives.

The book gives you various exercises, mostly writing exercises, to find out where certain lies come from.
They help you gain perspective on what lies you have, and why, and what effect that really do have, and what you actually REALLY want.

I bought this Companion book only after I've been reading (and rereading over 3 times) the Four Agreements, the Mastery of Love and the Voice of Knowledge. I feel I bought this book a bit too late, as a lot of my lies were already destroyed and how I felt about a lot of them already drastically changed.

Anyhow, still I try doing the exercises with the little lies that still remain.
One very interesting exercise is making your 'Book of Law', a list of all the lies you come across.
You are supposed to keep track of all your lies for at least a year, and write them down.

This book will, in my opinion, very much help the ones who just started out fighting the Liar and Judge, or who have trouble overcoming their lies.

"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." And that teacher for me was don Miguel Ruiz. I've had The Four Agreements book for several years and went back to it after some recent trauma. It was wonderfully healing to remember what the agreements mean beneath the words and to reconnect with this peacefully way of being. The companion book is now helping me understand more deeply and to release some of the negative thoughts, or "agreements," that have held me back and led me to the trauma I experienced. I keep these books close to me, as well as The Mastery of Love. They are easy to understand and to practice. I hope to someday have them committed to memory so peace is my default state of mind. :)
