If you watched the movie and gave it a bad review for the sole purpose of not being entertained you are a moron and your review is null.

The movie is a conflicting drama of a mothers struggle for her daughters sobriety. If you havent lived in the shoes you should just STFU ahead of time. All parents should watch this video with their children, ALL OF YOU, I honestly think this should be shown in school as well...why? because D.A.R.E. does NOT work. Your kids are not invincible, in fact they are the opposite, they are susceptible. Peer pressure is a mofo, both my brother and I used drugs, only one of us is here to talk about it.

This story is heartbreaking but couldnt be more spot on accurate.
Glenn Close does an outstanding job, and tbh I think the F bombs are pretty on-point needed, you who say otherwise are coddled and are not awake to the real world.
Mila Kunis could not have nailed an addicts personality better
Steven Root nails his part as well.

A solid movie A+

A honest look into addiction and how it affects. Glenn Close and Mila Kunis are amazing!

I've went through a different type of addiction for years and found some of those scenes hitting home hard. I'm going to give a hug to my Mom now and tell her that I love her and thank her for never giving up on me.

Earlier Critics-Negative-real reason?!

It kept me watching the whole time.
First, critics before it came out slammed and slammed this movie.
Then, when it comes out..all the REAL reviews come out.
Someone's winning an award with this one.
Some real shocks, I didn't expect..that impressed me.
4 instead of 5 was way to many F bombs by Glenn Close character..sounded corny..overdone.
And, I wanted MORE at the end. NO! Don't end!!?? Was it another clinic lie, or did it not matter anyways(because of shot..)?
To be fair, I would not be wanting anything more..if it wasn't a great movie in the first place. So there's your answer.
Do not listen to earlier critics.. as there was something shady going on there, anyways..
If you like dark movies, in real life form..watch this one.

Movie certainly shows what withdrawal is like. But makes it seem that methadone is the only thing needed to get better. I wish they showed after she was on it. That’s when the real recovery takes place. That’s the hard work to get better. And I don’t know what person that’s just a few days clean could tell their story of addiction to a group of people or kids. Not realistic at all. It is nice to see how a mother doesn’t give up on her kids. I guess that’s the only moral of the story.

I am a recovering addict & I have been in a MAT program(medication assisted treatment) for 16 years & I have been completely clean/sober for the entire 16 years.
Anyone that doesn't understand a MAT Program or addiction or if you have that family member that wants you clean but they keep bashing your MAT program with- your just trading 1 drug for another drug those people really, truly needs to watch this movie. It gives insight into what an addict goes through to get clean(& believe me its not glamorous /a few parts of the movie hit me so hard that I turned my head until it was over & not because it made me wanna get high because it broke my heart thinking of the tens of thousands of addiction that were going through that exact same withdrawl right now). MAT programs save lives- it saved mine & my husband's & ot can save yours too.

This movie feels like the retelling of me and my daughter. Her journey to beating addiction. I cried and. Cried so very emotional and can relate to everything that goes on in this movie. I feel like this was written about us.
If you have struggled with a child and addiction I can’t say enough ! Watch this movie! Cry it out and let it help you lift some of your burden. No matter what stage of addiction you or your child is in this movie made me feel nor so alone in it.
Great movie! Great acting! And for me so very real and it hit home hard!

Absolutely amazing movie! Waited months for it to be released and it was everything I expected and more! Highly recommend for anyone who needs to see from a third party perspective on how addiction effects more than the addict!

It's a good movie overall but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be it doesn't show what she actually had to go through in rehab the achs and pains how hard it is to get clean I was really hoping this movie would be a great movie for ppl to see what addicts really go through but it cut out most of that it mainly showed what the mother went through with an addict daughter which was all turth. It just would have been a great learning movie if it showed both sides
