You either get it or you don't...

This film is for people who see beauty in the world. If you need to be hit over the head with themes or have no sense of place or nuance, you may not enjoy this film.

I will say it has comedic moments, but it's not a "comedy." Paris as a background is always a good idea!

If you've got more years behind you than in front of you, this is a movie you'll appreciate.

If you are someone with more years behind you than in front of you, this is a movie that you will enjoy and appreciate. I could identify with many aspects of Michelle Pfeiffer's character and the movie has depth and character development. Michelle Pfeiffer is excellent, as always, and so is the rest of re cast. If they gave academy awards to animals, the cat would win hands down. Lots of symbolism, it makes you think while entertaining. Good one.

Skip this movie… horrible!!!!!

I love Michelle Pfeiffer , but this movie was the worst thing she has ever done. It was the slowest in developing the plot/point of the story, which to be honest I don’t think it ever even got there. Just horrible, boring, not one bit of entertainment. I kept waiting for the movie to unravel or for it to get to the point. And let’s not even get into the topic of the cat séance scenes….nothing comical about it….. do your self a favor and just skip this movie. Or at least wait till
It’s free… don’t rent it! save your money. Not worth it. Wish I could get a refund on how bad it was…..

To enjoy this movie you must be smart, cultured, patient, and have an ability to see deep meanings. This film was brilliantly acted and is a quirky little masterpiece.

THIS FLOP MUST HAVE BEEN A TAX WRITE OFF

GREAT CAST BUT HOW MANY WAYS CAN YOU SAY FLOP? IRRATIONAL, BORING,
RIDICULOUS STORYLINE, TERRIBLE SCRIPT, NO WAY TO CONNECT WITH ANY OF
THE EMPTY CHARACTERS.
NO WONDER THE CAT RAN AWAY.
IF YOU WATCH IT...LIKE ME...YOU WILL NEVER THINK SO MUCH ABOUT MONEY--
IN PARTICULAR CASH--AS YOU WILL IN THIS FILM.

Waste of time/money

This is definitely one of the most boring films I have ever watched with trite, bad dialogue and unlikeable characters. The director ran totally out of plot ideas and started adding characters who, for some unexplained reason, all decided to live with the two main characters in their apartment. I believe this was supposed to be hilarious? It wasn't hilarious. It was ridiculous and the new characters were tiresome in the extreme.

Did not like the story. The message. Ridiculous and unbelievable. The did a horrible job on Miss Phypher's make up and hair. She is very beautiful but you could not appreciate her as they had dead looking ugly hair on her head. Too much highlighter on her brows which made her look like she has bulbous brow bones. They certainly wasted her good looks by not having better make up artists. Did not make sense what actions she took with giving her money away and leaving her only child homeless in another country. No one would do that to their child. No one worth a damn!
