A must see for all young people.

When I watch a movie (1996) that engaged me on so many levels, it is a good thing. When a movie makes me smile, makes me angry, makes me think and makes me shake my head in despair it is a very good movie. This is a story of a Freshman girl who, on the advice of her friend goes to a Frat party and is violated by the big man on campus. She tells no one but he begins damage control because she becomes despondent and distant and when she finally lets someone know what happened it is her parents and brother ( who is in the same frat as her attacker and his friend), she is not believed by anyone should watch it to see what happens. Excellent performances by everyone and I do mean everyone. This is very much a cautionary tale that many males and females should see. Especially young people.

This film is very powerful and as relevant today as it was when it came out 23 years ago. I agree with another reviewer who said that it should be shown to all college freshman. Younger kids, too, should watch it i.e. maybe instead of brainwashing girls with Disney princess films and movies that in general promote the idea that young men view women as human beings rather than disposable sexual prey/conquests, we should be showing them films like Freshman Fall, which depict actual reality and might prepare them for what they're really up against. I have to add, too, that my heart breaks for the young men in the film. I believe Scott's confusion was on some level 100% genuine; he really may not have realized that what he did was wrong, because the misogynistic, predatory culture he was so engrossed in encouraged, demanded, and congratulated his behavior. So, let's not forget that young men are victims as well in their own way.

It's A Great TV Show

This used to be on tv or lifetime years ago and normally it was called She Cried No in 1996 but they released it on dvd as Freshman Fall in 2006. With great TV stars as Candace Cameron Bure (Full House, Fuller House (Netflix series) ), Mark Paul Gosselaar (Saved By The Bell), and Jenna Von Oy (Blossom). In my opinion I thought this was a great movie with a moral story about girls in college gets raped while they get drunk in a fraternity house. Great movie.

Like others have said here this movie should be shown to all the youth maybe in their senior year of high school. Important topic of rape and good depiction of how things go and how women often feel shame and blame and others judge them. It has come out to the light more in recent years and why we see so many accusations now of big shots in tv but still many people who I’m sure are too ashamed to come forward. I’m surprised this movie wasn’t advertised more. It should be shared with all the young people !! Let’s do that !

Good movie

This was a good movie overall. The acting was above average and the storyline parallels what is happening in colleges today. The only downside is that it was very predictable from start to finish.

Hard to Watch

Although the message in this movie is important, the screenplay and the acting is so bad that it is a chore to watch. One of the worst movies on Prime.
