Scott and Rik are getting used to working together as a specialized team of commandos within the Castle Lair when they are sent north on a desperate mission. The throne of the Northlands has long been in the hands of usurpers, but now that the rightful heiress has been found – the knights are searching for a way to oust the enemy and put Princess Isabelle on her late father’s throne.
One very brave woman…
Claire is living in a castle under siege, hiding within the secret passages to do her duty and protect the location of the all-important gate. After witnessing the death of her beloved parents, she has stepped up to take their places as guardian of the gate and protector of the kingdom’s knowledge. She’s saved what she could of the archives and has stepped into her father’s role as Gatekeeper, all while remaining hidden within the walls of the castle.
Three who are destined to become one…
Even in her isolation, Claire has found a way to make allies - just in time, since every day, the enemy draws nearer to discovering the secret she is guarding. When she meets the knights, the attraction is instantaneous, but the danger is even more imminent. When Claire is captured by the enemy, it'll be up to Scott and Rik to storm the castle and free their lady love. They hope to claim her and make a family…if they all live through the perilous times ahead.

The men were nice, but none of their personalities stood out as a memorable character - other than that they were matched with the gatekeeper. The dragons had the better, more outstanding qualities, than the knights. I was drawn into how the dragons communicated with the lady via telepathic means more often. Day to day stuff wasn’t usually moving.
It would’ve been more interesting if some conversations were done with telepathy - such as clearing the magical maze. Those conversations seem to pull me in more. Maybe because telepathic conversations are simply more magical for occurring but those were more interesting.
The only reason I gave 4 stars was that I’ve been lead to believe this would be when the resolution occurred. Now, I have to go hunt for the last book, or I’m stuck waiting for it to come out. As most were done in 2016-18 or 19, I thought it would be safe to start the series. I hate hanging until the next or last book! I pray the preview pops up after I do my review!
Though the book introduces a new knight passing and their lady, Lady Isabelle from "Hidden Dragons" connects to her lost heritage in a spectacular way. We also get a deeper insight into Loralie the North Witch.
Those who are familiar with Ms. D'arc's work, will in no way be surprised way the wonderfully rich world she builds using visually descriptive words and character interaction. Those who are new to her work will simply fall in love with her worlds.
This is a delightful read (which I'll most definitely re-read) and I'm already eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Bianca Darc each layer you reveal about the future of this world, I want to know more. Out of the Dragon series, it is my third favorite. First being Keeper of the flame, Ice Dragon, and now GateKeeper.!!! Great job thanks for sharing this.

When the messenger arrives, delivering a scroll, King Roland knows who to send along with his knights and dragons, the long missing princess Isabelle. Two other knights don't get know that they too will meet their mate.

Trying not to give anything away….
This one is set in the north again. The two dragon partners, Rik and Scott head north from Draconia after serious information is delivered to King Rowland by one of the snowcats. There they meet Clair who has been living and spying in the secret passageways of the castle Solamar lived in and is now occupied by Gebel.
It also sees the return of several characters from previous books who are almost more important than the main characters of this book. We learn a little more about Loralai and get some long overdue information about The Citadel.
