strong woman, dumb man...

I really liked that she was strong but gentle and loving - and that she KNEW (without a lot of waffling) that she loved this man. What frustrated me was that he had to play games and waffle himself to get her to "stay". I really enjoy Delinsky's later books where the love interest has a brain as well as a body, and where the relationship itself is honest, progresses along strongly, and yet still can suprise and delight you at the end. Much as I liked her, he ruined it for me.

One of the harlequin romance type of Barbara Delinsky novels. I suppose each popular women's authors like Nora Roberts make huge money off having a crew of writers put out this simplistic type of romance and then put their names on it. Nothing like Delinsky's hardcover novels. I am reading all of those and rereading many I enjoyed in the past and they are great stories, many different settings. Of course all comes right in the end but Delinsky's characters are so well developed. Gotta be careful with purchasing her books or Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown on kindle though because you can't see if it is one of the mass produced romances. I just hate paying for one of those with plots so typical (man and woman fight, man and woman can't fight the attraction, end up having sex, regrets because they are supposed to hate each other, succumb to love in the end.) They should be .99 cents instead of paying 5.99 or more. So frustrating.
