If you liked Christoph Waltz in "Inglorious Basterds" and "Django Unchained," you'll love this movie. If you like reading about DC snobs and the DC world of social climbers and power players, you'll like this movie too.
Christoph Waltz plays his usual role as a foreigner who, while playing nice, is clearly evil underneath. Another great performance by him. Everyone else plays a good job as DC snobs who are trying way too hard to seem important, and who can be played like a violin if you stroke their egos. So this is a good "con artist who eventually gets what's coming to him" film. Annette Benning does a good job, but many, many actresses could have played her part.
But you've seen this movie in many forms. And it's shot on a small budget. So I didn't give it four stars. But those who do give it four stars aren't unreasonable. I think giving it five stars is too much, though.
Bottom Line- you won't regret watching Georgetown. It's based on a true story of a delusional con man who took advantage of a elderly Georgetown (that's a neighborhood in DC) socialite.
