This was a very creative and imaginative interpretation of Charles Dickens' Scrooge. Ivy had to learn her lesson of Christmas past, Christmas present, and Christmas future. With learning these lessons she was able to forgive and love to have a more meaningful and fulfilling life with Saint and her family which included her father and his family.
I just loved the graphics, it really enhanced the reading experience.
Then it starts going downhill. This is an exact retelling right down to the Bob Crachett and Tiny Tim characters. The attempts to make the story a unique retelling fall flat and one subplot is never resolved. It is a missed opportunity to contrast how appearances aren't always what they seem.
Additionally, there are several editing issues. Small words are missing, changes in the tense and repetitive actions (does everyone wave to signal they are drunk?) take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
It's a good premise that has a lot of promise but doesn't deliver in the final product.
What kept it from a five star rating was that it didn't really tie up the story of her father. It didn't touch on her parents relationship or his current one. I would have liked to see that explained more.
It was such a magical event with spectacular scenes and fully metaphorically structured. I love that the connection with Saint grew from a childhood friendship. Even in pain love shines bright when you open you heart and soul to the truth.
Who doesn't want to be loved the way Saint loves Ivy?
Another full story of love, forgiveness and redemption. The are is amazing. The pictures enhanced the story. Beautifully erotic and loving.
This has been the most amazing book I've read in a while.
Thank you for this much needed reading away from reality.
