Enter a world of lies, thrills, fears, and all desires, in this original thriller from A. R. Torre.
I haven't touched a human in three years. That seems like it would be a difficult task, but it's not. Not anymore, thanks to the Internet.
I am, quite possibly, the most popular recluse ever. Not many shut-ins have a two-hundred-member fan club, a bank account in the seven-figure range, and hundreds of men lining up to pay for undivided attention. They get satisfaction; I get a distraction. Their secret desires are nothing compared to why I hide: my lust for blood, my love of death.
Taking their money is easy. Keeping all these secrets - one is bound to escape.
What if you hid yourself away because all you could think of was killing? And what if one girl's life depends on you venturing into society?

Editorial Reviews
Review
''A.R. Torre's The Girl in 6E lifts the veil on the dark, erotic world of camming, but the book contains so many more surprises than that. At the novel's core, a tender heart beats, and the increasingly suspenseful pages fly by as its deepest secrets are revealed. This is a taut, edgy, thrill ride, powerfully gripping and impossible to turn away from.'' --David Bell, author of Never Come Back and Cemetery Girl
''An incredible debut. Gritty, unique, primal, full of angst, oddly feminist, and right up my alley. The Girl in 6E deviates from formulaic romance to deliver something truly special and worthy of praise and attention. A dark soul like me isn't often surprised by controversy or taboo subject matter, but this book delivers and I'll be reading more A.R. Torre books in the future. Kudos!'' --CJ Roberts, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Dark Duet

If you follow my reviews, I tend to like the dark reads so much more than anything else! These twisted and demented books are what gets my blood pumping and my mind distracted from everything else around me. I devour them.
The Girl in 6E is one of those dark, twisted and original books that you won't be able to put it down. I was so intrigued by the main character, Deanna. She is a unique and very resourceful character. You won't come across another like her.
Deanna has shut herself off from the rest of the world. She is not only protecting herself by doing so, but she believes that she is protecting the public also. She has to fight the urge daily to know kill someone. She believes she is sick in the head. She believes that she was born to murder everyone.
In order to support herself, Deanna has become a cam girl. An honest living, right? Well it is one that has allowed her to re-invent herself and never leave her apartment. Then, the unthinkable happens... She has no choice. In order to save someone, she must leave her sanctuary for the first time in years. She must also kill. She knows what needs to be done.
Jeremy... Deanna's UPS delivery guy. He is intrigued by this woman he has regularly delivered packages to for years. He has never seen her. He wants to see her. He wants to know who she is. Why does she hide? Then, that fateful day comes. He sees her. Meets her. Now he wants more.
This book is so different and twisted. It is dark in just the right way. Alessandra really won me over with this book. If you haven't read this book, trust me, you really should. It is one of those books that will leave you with a hangover for weeks! It is so brilliant and written full of skill. This is one of my top picks.... of all time!
I loved getting to know Deanna. She's isn't evil, or at least not entirely. Sure she has evil urges but they didn't appear out of the blue. I won't spoil you but there is more to the story there. And she doesn't want to hurt innocent people and fearing that she will, locks herself up. Being a cam girl is a means to live, both for money because she still has to eat and live and all that of course, as well as a means to sort of escape her rather lonely life.
I even related to her in some ways. Not in the murderous tendencies kind of way but I do believe we all have some darkness in us. Maybe some more than others but we all have some, a dark thought here or there. It's what we do that tells us who we are.
I loved getting to know her story.
When a little girl's life depends on her getting out of her apartment, well let's just say I love Deanna ok! There is true evil out there...and I don't think Deanna is it. Messed up...sure, but she tries and has good in her. She obviously isn't perfect though. Who is?
The beginning sucked me in, the second half of the story captured my heart and tears. I also feel like saying too much would spoil it, so i'll just end it with I loved it, and if it intrigues you give it a shot.
"Enter a world of lies, thrills, fears, and all desires, in this original thriller from A. R. Torre."
That is from the blurb. I read it before I read the book. But I had no idea the depths of the thrills and fears I would experience while reading this book. As I alluded to, this was a difficult, uncomfortable read for me. Some of the subject matter was so uncomfortable, I almost didn't finish. I had to talk with someone who had read the book to be assured MY worst fears would not happen. I needed a HEA. Thankfully, I had friend who held my hand through it.
Deanna Madden, Jessica is a sex cam operator. She has locked herself away from society fearing she would kill if she left the confines of her apartment. Her story was so incredibly well-written it was like a case study on the effects of lack of human contact. Her inner thoughts and her feelings were so descriptive that I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. And the way her story unraveled, the details and the truths that came forth was slow and powerful.
During the course of her day/night, Jessica interacts with hundreds of clients. Each of whom share fantasies and secrets. It is one of these clients who caused my distress. I didn't want to continue reading. I couldn't get past it. That's how incredible the writing is, I FELT every emotion that I am sure the author was trying to evoke from the reader. I as angry as hell, scared as hell, and was freaked the hell out!
I had to think a while before I started this review. Under normal circumstances, this would not have been a go-to read for me. But as I have mentioned the writing was phenomenal and that alone, deserves 5 stars. Add in the solid and well-thought out plot, solid and thoroughly developed characters, there was no doubt I needed to give this 5 stars. My discomfort shouldn't come in to play.
This story will stick with me for a long time to come. This is the 2nd book by Ms. Torre that I have read. And putting my fears aside, stepping out of my comfort zone, I will read more in the future.

Alessandra Torre has this way of writing that has always glued me to the story. She knows how to keep her reader guessing and obsessing over the story. It's just in the way she sets it out, each chapter a new and interesting insight and i tell you what it has worked rather well. The going back and forth between different scenes, trying to put the story together, wondering if Deanna or Jessica will finally crack, and a speciality of mine; spending all my time psycho analysing Deanna because that is just what I do.
I think it is difficult to talk about this storyline without giving too much away, because it is a thriller and well the whole thrill is the not knowing. So I'm trying to refrain from it but I will say that I still don't know whether I want to sympathise with Deanna or have her treated. Because as much as she is her own person and needs to live her life it is also unavoidable the help she needs. I didn't really understand how her therapist knowing she is a potential threat to others around her, could still keep her confidentiality and not pass the message on. How does she refuse medication when it is possibly the one thing that could help? I don't know, I really did not sympathise with her in that as I think she should in fact be receiving the necessary help. Because feelings or not a killer is a killer. I think Jeremy should run far far away, any sane man would.
So summing it up, this book is just...different. It was a new experience for me and it was so damn interesting. It includes some incredibly strange ideas so beware! It just makes it the perfect thriller read. I'm so glad I've just read this now before the release of the next one which I don't even have to wait too long for. So yeah, to anyone wondering note would be a perfect time to read it.

In this novel the main character Jessica/Deanna has vivid fantasies about murdering people, because she does not want to act upon those fantasies she locks herself up in her apartment. In way of still receiving an income she resorts to camming...
75% of this book is about sexual tendencies, the other 25% is about a little girl that goes missing. if you started this book expecting a full blown thriller then you might be a bit disappointed. Since I found this book in the erotica section, I knew full well what to expect and was not for the least disappointed.
I would definitely recommend it for people who enjoy erotica with a bit of thriller on the side !

A solid start to a promising series. I found it hard to connect to any of the characters, whether male or female, young or old. It will be interesting to see Deanna develop as a character, and see if she can come to terms with who she is, and why. It's almost like the tv show, Dexter, to a certain degree, with a lot more erotic undertones. However, the plot is often distracted by the camera shows, and her internal monologue, which leaves the action and full-blown drama of the ending a little lacklustre. Even then, it was predictable in places.
Either way though, this is personal taste and would be intrigued to read more from this author.
