Enter a world of lies, thrills, fears, and all desires, in this original thriller from A. R. Torre.
I haven't touched a human in three years. That seems like it would be a difficult task, but it's not. Not anymore, thanks to the Internet.
I am, quite possibly, the most popular recluse ever. Not many shut-ins have a two-hundred-member fan club, a bank account in the seven-figure range, and hundreds of men lining up to pay for undivided attention. They get satisfaction; I get a distraction. Their secret desires are nothing compared to why I hide: my lust for blood, my love of death.
Taking their money is easy. Keeping all these secrets - one is bound to escape.
What if you hid yourself away because all you could think of was killing? And what if one girl's life depends on you venturing into society?

Editorial Reviews
Review
''A.R. Torre's The Girl in 6E lifts the veil on the dark, erotic world of camming, but the book contains so many more surprises than that. At the novel's core, a tender heart beats, and the increasingly suspenseful pages fly by as its deepest secrets are revealed. This is a taut, edgy, thrill ride, powerfully gripping and impossible to turn away from.'' --David Bell, author of Never Come Back and Cemetery Girl
''An incredible debut. Gritty, unique, primal, full of angst, oddly feminist, and right up my alley. The Girl in 6E deviates from formulaic romance to deliver something truly special and worthy of praise and attention. A dark soul like me isn't often surprised by controversy or taboo subject matter, but this book delivers and I'll be reading more A.R. Torre books in the future. Kudos!'' --CJ Roberts, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Dark Duet

If you follow my reviews, I tend to like the dark reads so much more than anything else! These twisted and demented books are what gets my blood pumping and my mind distracted from everything else around me. I devour them.
The Girl in 6E is one of those dark, twisted and original books that you won't be able to put it down. I was so intrigued by the main character, Deanna. She is a unique and very resourceful character. You won't come across another like her.
Deanna has shut herself off from the rest of the world. She is not only protecting herself by doing so, but she believes that she is protecting the public also. She has to fight the urge daily to know kill someone. She believes she is sick in the head. She believes that she was born to murder everyone.
In order to support herself, Deanna has become a cam girl. An honest living, right? Well it is one that has allowed her to re-invent herself and never leave her apartment. Then, the unthinkable happens... She has no choice. In order to save someone, she must leave her sanctuary for the first time in years. She must also kill. She knows what needs to be done.
Jeremy... Deanna's UPS delivery guy. He is intrigued by this woman he has regularly delivered packages to for years. He has never seen her. He wants to see her. He wants to know who she is. Why does she hide? Then, that fateful day comes. He sees her. Meets her. Now he wants more.
This book is so different and twisted. It is dark in just the right way. Alessandra really won me over with this book. If you haven't read this book, trust me, you really should. It is one of those books that will leave you with a hangover for weeks! It is so brilliant and written full of skill. This is one of my top picks.... of all time!
I did like the discussion of how she had to basically teach herself and learn how to become the independent entrepreneur that she became after she decided on locking herself away from humanity. That she had to seek help from some of the other girls with similar jobs and how she had to start figuring out all of her bulk orders to make sure she didn't run out of things she would need. However I did have a hard time reading about the graphic nature in which she made her hard earned (haha) seven figures she boasted about so proudly.
While this book was a very fast read for me I don't see myself reading any others in the Deanna Madden series. That is unless I happen to find the second one for super cheap and pick it up in a fit of weakness.
I loved the obvious research done into the world of camming and the non-prejudice prevailing both the main character and those that interact with her on being a cam-girl.
However, I didn’t like Deanna as a bloodthirsty killer, because other than fantasizing about it she really fails as one. The opportunities that arise for her to kill prove as much when they find her feeble and incapable of executing said fantasies, so much so that those moments amount to little more than ridicule.
And seeing as I didn’t understanding the angle the author was trying to explore with that (past trauma affecting one’s personality? Inherited genetics? Modern-society provoked emotional disconnection? Who knows what?) and seeing how the whole book’s premise falls flat at that, I feel kinda cheated on what I was promised by the blurb.
I’m glad about the happy ending(s) and how everything ties up nicely, the narrative and the POVs are nicely done and the writing is engaging enough to have you turn page after page, but, again, that’s not all the book promised me so I feel kinda meh about it all, hence the three stars rating. Good but not rocking my socks off of my feet good, if you know what I mean 🤷🏽♀️

Alessandra Torre has this way of writing that has always glued me to the story. She knows how to keep her reader guessing and obsessing over the story. It's just in the way she sets it out, each chapter a new and interesting insight and i tell you what it has worked rather well. The going back and forth between different scenes, trying to put the story together, wondering if Deanna or Jessica will finally crack, and a speciality of mine; spending all my time psycho analysing Deanna because that is just what I do.
I think it is difficult to talk about this storyline without giving too much away, because it is a thriller and well the whole thrill is the not knowing. So I'm trying to refrain from it but I will say that I still don't know whether I want to sympathise with Deanna or have her treated. Because as much as she is her own person and needs to live her life it is also unavoidable the help she needs. I didn't really understand how her therapist knowing she is a potential threat to others around her, could still keep her confidentiality and not pass the message on. How does she refuse medication when it is possibly the one thing that could help? I don't know, I really did not sympathise with her in that as I think she should in fact be receiving the necessary help. Because feelings or not a killer is a killer. I think Jeremy should run far far away, any sane man would.
So summing it up, this book is just...different. It was a new experience for me and it was so damn interesting. It includes some incredibly strange ideas so beware! It just makes it the perfect thriller read. I'm so glad I've just read this now before the release of the next one which I don't even have to wait too long for. So yeah, to anyone wondering note would be a perfect time to read it.

I instantly liked Jessica Reilly, with her straight talking attitude and determination. Learning about her self-banishment to the confines of her apartment because of her urge to kill, taking in her shocking family history and seeing her role as a 'camgirl' just pulled me in. The storyline is ridiculously intriguing - very clever writing. As Ms Torre writes in the Acknowledgements, 'it takes a certain type of person to 'get it'' this is very true, as there is a lot of sexually explicit content. But in my opinion, the way this is incorporated to the story is fascinating and I couldn't stop reading because I was hungry to understand more of Jessica - why does she lust after death, how did she come to be this way, could she ever recover and come out of hiding?
When Jessica comes to the realisation that the safety of 6 year old Annie is in her hands, my heart was in my mouth as I followed her dangerous journey. Emotional, compelling and the definition of a thriller. The characters you meet along the way are so well thought out, gave me reason to smile and root for Jessica to confront her demons and find her happy ending. I just can't imagine you being disappointed if you throw yourself in to this book - it just might surprise you.

In this novel the main character Jessica/Deanna has vivid fantasies about murdering people, because she does not want to act upon those fantasies she locks herself up in her apartment. In way of still receiving an income she resorts to camming...
75% of this book is about sexual tendencies, the other 25% is about a little girl that goes missing. if you started this book expecting a full blown thriller then you might be a bit disappointed. Since I found this book in the erotica section, I knew full well what to expect and was not for the least disappointed.
I would definitely recommend it for people who enjoy erotica with a bit of thriller on the side !
