3 things to know
3 things.
1 – Language is over the top. There are places where a character will sit and repeat the F word 4, 5, 6 times in a row. No other dialogue. No other interaction, just sit and repeat over and over. Really? No one talks like that.

2 – The sexual vulgarities and deviancies way over the top.

The script reads like an uncertain writer trying desperately to shock an audience so as to get some attention. It doesn’t work anymore. It’s all been done. And the big questions is…

WHY??!!??!!??!!

You’ve got two excellent and deep characters. They are INTERESTING. And you’ve got superb acting to show those deep characters. You’ve got Billy Bob Thornton, a world-class talent. You’ve got the woman who plays the Patty character who is superb!
There were glimpses of greatness, the scene that let us peek behind Patty’s façade when she was asked for a date, that were brilliant. Alas, too few.

3 – The ending is very unsatisfying. Sometimes when making a statement in great world-class literature, you may want the bad guys to win everything and the good guys to lose everything. Even then it’s risky. This is entertainment. When you lead your viewers along, then leave them with an ending that is disappointing and depressing, FOR NO GOOD REASON, not smart. Guarantee you’re going to lose a bunch of them.

If it were me, I’d never be able to let the series go, it’s got too much potential. But I’d make the writers create a season with material that would NOT rise to an MA rating. I would hope that would force them to focus on the assets they have, their characters and actors, instead of hoping to rely on cheap and easy shock value. Which totally backfired by the way.

Get to work. Most writers would salivate at the thought of working with these characters and actors.

SEASON 2 IS TERRIBLE
Season 2 is terrible. I loved season 1 of this show. It featured Billy McBride as a lean, mean attorney, kicking ass and taking names with all the odds stacked against him. In this season he's lost all his energy. He plays some poor sap with little screen time and a lot of sad music in the background. The bad guys in this show are a bunch of weird, handsome white dudes, like LaCrosse players with tics. They are kind of entertaining except for the grotesque surgery fetish of one of them, which is totally out of place. The supporting cast, Brittney, Marla, and Patty have a couple of nice lines, but without Billy's energy to anchor this there's really nothing here. I kept waiting for him to wake up but he never did. This doesn't even feel like a legal drama. Very disappointed in whatever writer or director was responsible for this debacle. I don't know who what happened to this season but it's reminiscent of True Detective 2.

Beyond Horrible - Nowhere near Season 1 quality
OMG. It was as though the director from Season 1 had a stroke and a summer intern took over. The writing was atrocious, the dialog was made up of mostly dead air (long uncomfortable pauses between lines), and episodes just thrown into the mix that didn't even make any sense. I actually watched the entire season... all the time thinking that maybe it was just me.... maybe I'm the one who had a stroke, and surely this is going to turn around and be good. But no... it was just horribly bad to the bitter end. Did anyone watch this before you released it? Did no one see it and say... "Wow, what were we thinking?" And, what Amazon did by blocking all of our reviews for days because they knew all of their PAYING customers were going to rate it 1 star is just flabbergasting. You prevented your customers from hearing the truth... all the while promoting this season on the banner on top of the page. If you make a pile of garbage, own up to it. Don't block our reviews because we tell you how badly you screwed up.

Abysmally Atrocious
From the best ever the first season to an absolute waste of time the second season. Too bad Amazon, you lose bigly on this mess. Gratuitous violence on so many levels, a plot that was poorly concieved and miserably executed. Don't subject your stellar cast to this type of indignity again. Should have quit while you were ahead!

Who would have thought they could take season one and turn it into this?
They turned this into a twisted perverted worse than netflix garbage. Season one was great was hoping for more or even better. Full frontal male nudity whatever for? and it gets worse..... way worse. Beginning to think Hollywood has an agenda to drag us into shows like this and down into the gutter. What happened to the feel good first season ?

Let's not do this again.
Horror show. Great actors who were completely wasted on poorly plotted storyline an unhealthy fixation on torturing humans via amputation.
