I hate writing reviews but people need to be warned. I didn’t really read the reviews but saw it rated highly so I bought it as a gift for a mermaid themed bday party. When I got it, I was too embarrassed to give it because it was awful. I don’t understand how people can give rave reviews - have you never read an award winning children’s book?? You can’t even call this a story. It’s literally just pictures of mermaids in different scenarios and it says hello or goodnight mermaids. Thankfully my child is 3 and does not know the difference but it’s not really her favorite book either. Illustrations aren’t even cutesy because that would have at least made it better. When you look at the back it says printed in China. Very suspect. I can’t believe they charge $9. I wouldn’t even pay $1. Pass on this one.

The mermaids are cute and doing activities that many children do in their lives. I especially like the ones playing musical instruments. I also love the mermaid dolly. It's a tad on the corny side because there are many "good night" books like this, but I think it has a nice take on mermaids. Cute and special little book for those who want to dream of mermaids.
