When I first started watching GOOD TIMES, I did not much care for James Evans, Sr. because he reminded me so much of my own father. Not to mention Thelma having the biggest mouth in the Midwest. But the years went by, I got older, and, when I least expected it, I grew to appreciate the art of the show, and the character James Evans, Sr....and the actor who played him, Mister John Amos. In fact, you have Mr. Amos to thank for making Senior one of the GREATEST TV DADS EVER!!! And before I forget, heaven bless the soul of Esther Rolle A.K.A Florida Evans for seeing to it that the strong, caring father was there! And that among a few other things prompted me to start the series from the VERY beginning. Enter season ONE of GOOD TIMES. Viewers and classic TV lovers will and should enjoy GOOD TIMES, because such a show will teach one to appreciate art as well as the need to know the harsh realities of what goes on with whomever in society. Also, unlike today's primetime programming, it explores and delves into the family dynamic, specifically with a family who does not have much but makes the best with what they have. As for the product itself, no freezing, no scratches, no poor picture quality, no nothing. It works like a charm. Ain't we lucky we got 'em? That is to have at home?
