My 3 children and I were in a car accident at 60mph. 2 year old was in this carseat and walked away from the accident with just biting his tongue. So thankful for the protection this seat provided him!

The placement of safety sticker makes the car seat unusable in warmer months.

The safety sticker hits in the middle of my daughters back and becomes too hot to touch when it is sitting in the car at 65 degrees. The sticker retains heat to an uncomfortable temperature for about 20 minutes after the car is started. The first time it was warm my daughter was screaming that her back was hot and I just thought she was throwing a fit until I touched the sticker. I do love everything else about this car seat.

Good option for smaller cars

Ok. So please forgive all of the pictures but when I was looking for new car seats seeing actual comparison pictures really helped me make my decision. We are upgrading from the Graco extend2fit car seat. I drive a 2015 Subaru crosstrek, the smallest of the Subaru crossover line. Middle seat room is important as there is a teenager in our house that sometimes needs to sit in the back for ull family outings (if I could do it all again, I would have just bought the minivan that I swore up and down we didn’t need and I didn’t want)

Anyway, comparing the two seats side by side, you can see the the extend2fit sits on a bit of a higher base. The lack of armrest and the flip out cup holders do make the seat a bit slimmer on the slimfit. The back and headrest are similar on both seats but a difference that was noticable is the the back of the slimfit is a solid panel as opposed to the extend2fit with an open back. This difference is mearly cosmetic and they are both functional.

The recline option is the same, the padding is the same, the wonderful sliding headrest to adjust height is the same (this is also my most favorite option on the Graco seats)

The seat looks comfortable, the install for rear facing was straight forward; forward facing you have to remove the latch and slide it through the rear pass (didn’t know that, called Graco and a tech walked me through it) I did get my hand fully stuck trying to get the latch through the rear pass but that’s water under the bridge at this point.

The seat seems a bit lighter than the extend2fit but this is a heavy seat, this is not a great choice if you move car seats on a regular basis or want to lug it through the airport.

I love that all of the padding is removable and machine washable, I don’t love that without the infant seat insert there are a ton of cracks and slips through the fabric for animal crackers and gummy snacks to migrate to.

All in all, this is a sturdy, well built seat that does become a booster (which is a bonus that I won’t need another car seat for the kids down the road)

TL;DR
The seat doesn’t seem much smaller than extend2fit but it’s nice. Installation was ok. 10/10 would buy again.

I usually spend way too much time online and in stores looking at and comparing products for my kids (drives my husband nuts). Plus, I'm always trying to find the best deal and bang for our buck. When it came time to upgrade to a bigger car seat for my daughter, it was no different. After going to multiple stores, reading reviews and comparing car seats, I finally decided on this Slimfit Graco car seat. Product came pretty quickly in the mail and then I let it sit in my entryway, unboxed for a few days as I was struggling to make the big switch from the infant car seat to the "big girl" car seat. Throughout those few days, my daughter had a ton of fun getting in and out and seemed to fully accept her new ride. I also had time to check it out several times as I passed by it and came to really appreciate the choice I had made. Seemed like a sturdy, well-made seat with quality fabric.

I love that there are options as to reclining it, so I don't have to worry about my daughters head falling forward when asleep. Haven't compared it to the other convertible car seat that I have, but I'm sure it might recline a little more while forward facing to help prevent the same issue when my daughter gets older. The head rest moves up and down so easily, which also automatically adjusts the shoulder straps! As in, I don't have to take the whole thing out to thread shoulder straps through layers of material. Genius!

Another attribute that I loved about this seat was that the armrests were a lower profile than some, which makes it easier to get my daughter in and out while having to reach over another car seat to access the middle seat. I was also happy to see it's equipped with the nice push button latches instead of the metal clips that you have to squeeze, so easy to install!

One of the reasons I got the SlimFit model was because I have three car seats to make room for and at times need to have access to my third row when watching additional kiddos. With the new car seat in the middle, another convertible car seat to one side and a booster on the other, my 5 yr old has no issues reaching down in between the seats to buckle her belt. It can get pretty cramped in any vehicle and can cause frustration. Folding up the single seat of my 60/40 bench seat in the second row for kids to move to the back in the 3rd row, the seat easily folds up and is not limited by the width of the new car seat. Having the cup holders folded in helped with that also.

Anyway, this is now officially the longest review I've written. I guess I'm just that pleased with our purchase! Although it wouldn't take much to move it to another vehicle, I could see buying a second SlimFit seat for my husbands truck to make things even easier when he has the kids.

I have a 2 year-old granddaughter and another one on the way. Time for Gammie to get a car seat! Car seats have changed dramatically in the last 30 years since I had one for my daughter. I did a great deal of research and decided on the Graco SlimFit All-in-One. While the majority of the reviews were extremely positive, I was concerned about two things particularly. First, my ability as a 60 year old to install it correctly myself; and second, the fact that it would be used in a 16 year old Trailblazer. Would it fit? Would it work? Did I have the correct tether system? Yes, yes and yes. From the time I took it out of the box to getting it installed correctly took maybe 10 mintues. I read a couple of reviews that said installation was difficult. Nope. One woman said she was unable to get the seatbelt routed through the rear of the car seat because the opening was too small to fit her hand through. Duh....the padded back on the seat lifts up and you can grasp the belt portion to pull it through to secure it to the seat belt latch on the other side. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and look forward to many happy years of toting my grandchildren around. Thanks, Graco!

The slim fit design definitely gives more room between seats (especially important as we have kid #2 on the way!). The straps are easy to adjust to get our child in and out quickly. There are only 2 minor down sides. First, the LATCH system straps take a lot of effort to get tight. We have a Chicco car seat that has a secondary strap for getting a tight fit and I really like that. I wish this seat had a similar design. Second, when rear facing it does not recline back very far so when driving at night if our daughter falls asleep her head can flop forward which looks uncomfortable. Our Chicco reclines back further giving her better head support.

This seat is better than expected. I am very pleased with the quality of the seat. Very cushioned for comfort and nice soft fabric. I am also pleased with the recline positions on this seat, very easy and smooth to adjust. It was also very easy to install in our vehicle (2014 Dodge Durango R/T). We were able to fit this seat right beside our son's booster seat which is also a Graco brand (Nautilus 3 in 1). There is still plenty of room for someone to sit next to car seat comfortably (I will include pictures). Our daughter is almost 8 months now and fits very well in this car seat. She is about 17 lbs and 25 inches long. I would highly recommend this seat for anyone wanting a good quality car seat for your child to grow with and be safe in. I read so many reviews for different car seats and this one had the best reviews with minimal bad reviews. I wanted to make the best choice and I feel I did. I'm also thankful for those who included pictures as it helped me to determine if this car seat would fit in my vehicle. I will also be adding pictures to hopefully help others in their decision to purchase.

Terrible car seat

I bought an 4 in 1 Graco car seat and it worked well. but this one, it's cheaply made. The latch is so short that can't tighten just like others siad. the Anchor strap is so short no joke, that it looks like a baby's belt. I am very disappointed.

I have a mazda3 sedan and while this carseat is rated for an infant and older, the recline of the seat wouldn't work for the space of my car. I found it easier to install than the base of my Graco infant carseat, and so long as you pick your incline before securing it snugly (cannot access the lever to adjust as its shoved into the seat when facing reverse) and in my case move my passenger seat forward, then back again I was good to go. My son actually fusses less in this car seat than his infant one and he can see better which makes for interesting baby babble. After installation in the middle portion of my back seat I could snugly fit 2 more adults in the back thanks to the cupholders not being permanently fixed. (I also appreciate the cupholders not being a pop out, since that would just become a projectile in the car eventually) Space is important and I plan to have more kids close together so I look forward to using this carseat in conjunction with the Graco infant car seat and a future booster.
