My 11 year old is obsessed with this series. He has read through all five books twice in the past few months! I read the first two and I have to say they are fun and well-written! Definitely recommend for 9-12 year old boys who love adventure stories!

After reading the first book I dived straight into the Prophecy of Bane. Gregor and his little sister Boots are back at it again with a new adventure. This time they're off on a seafaring voyage filled with obstacles and monsters of the unknown. Your favorite characters are back from the first book such as Luxa and Temp, and everyone is rallying towards saving the Underland once again. It's a great tale that will leave you wanting more.

This book was amazing! My fifth grade class loved it and I had to really, literally force myself not to read ahead. It is very exciting and there is a lot of action (for the boys), but there is also lots of connections among the characters to satisfy the girls! It flawlessly followed the previous story. My students were addicted. I wish that I had started the series before the end of the year!

A great series

A great series that on paper you might think wouldn’t work. All the animals / insects that people usually fear/ are averse to are shown in a new light ( Think friendly , loving cockroaches and the loyal bats ) this series follows one boy who thinks himself unimportant, living a sometimes difficult life. As the series develops we see the main character grow in confidence, find and fulfil prophecies ,which are life changing , and ends with his finding himself. A reminder that family comes in all shapes and sizes and that we are defined by our choices in life.

Fantastic read!

I loved the Hunger Games and was interested to see what other books Suzanne Collins had written. Initially I was put off buying this book as it seemed to be aimed at a much younger audience, however I took a chance and am so pleased that I did! This book was excellent! Beautifully written and I adored the characters of Temp and Boots and the wonderful relationship they shared. This book made me laugh but also kept me up at night as I couldn't wait to find out what happened in the next chapter. I will definitely be reading all the books in this series and can not recommend it enough. Great read for all ages.

Read the Hunger Games series first & bought this to read more by the same author. To my surprise & pleasingly found this series much better, more inventive and really wanted to see where the series sent. Well worth reading the series in order.

Great adventure!

Suzanne Collins has carved a dark and twisty world in which our humble protagonist and his charmingly cute sister are dropped. This series is aimed at a slightly younger audience than the more political Hunger Games, but the quicker plot and clever anthropomorphism make it a great read for all ages. We’re downloading the next one now!
