First off, I’d like to thank the author for another great book! I love reading about BWNAM relationships and this book is amazing. Love that these two are so alike that they know each other’s thoughts and hilariously have power struggles. Yet adore, respect and can’t resist one another. The chemistry between these two is hot!!! Silver is unique and fierce but going through some issues. Zenith is all alpha and exactly what Silver needs. However, Zenith is wrestling with his own demons. While trying to navigate through their everyday lives, they begin to show support for one another. And those feelings alone put them in unchartered territory. I can’t wait to read the second installment! 🤗🤗🤗

Meet Zenith and Silver. This book spoke about real life situations such as Alzheimer's, elderly abuse and guilt just to name a few. Zenith is a talented drummer in the band Pure Grit, and welder by trade. Silver is a software genius and love "tinkling" with motorcycles and playing video games. These two unique individuals are also battling some internal demons. Silver feels guilty regarding her ex-husband and Zenith regarding his parents. Will these two lost souls battle their internal demons to give love a chance? In Grind, you will go through an emotional roller coaster with the seriousness of an elder and the genius writing of this author. This book have you all up in your feelings and having you laugh out loud with scenes between Paw his grandfather and Zenith. I love his grandfather sense of humor even though he's battling his own demons. The first meeting between Zenith and Silver were electric and they both got "electrocuted" in a bad way. I truly adore the relationship between Silver and her mom and the relationship between Zenith and his grandfather! Will Zenith and Silver follow their dreams because they are both talented individuals or will the shackles of their demons be their demise? Take this journey with Zenith and Silver in the second book Grit to find out!

Nothing this author writes can be considered mediocre. She's just an excellent writer ... very descriptive. I've read a few books that are descriptive that I didn't like but Tiana Laveen's is so different! I recomment that you read her intro which appears in the beginning of all her books (I think). She explains the purpose of some of what you are about to read. I found that helpful. She also explains her style of writing and is very upfront about her unapologetic style of writing. I smiled when I read that ... because she's right. You get exactly what she's describing to you.
You get a birds eye view of each Zenith's & Silver's thoughts from a firt person POV ... in a very descriptive manner. It's actually quite refreshing.
Loved the relationship betweent the two. There was a buildup .. no immediate sex. I have a great appreciation for that too. It's worth the wait! Each character and their relationship to the main characters was really fleshed out so you can feel the connection int he relationships. PawPaw was absolutley hilarious !!! His infactuation with breasts in his senile state was just too funny!!

Loved it! My thing is, I Love how characters meet. This story didn't disappoint me at all! Nadia Warner,a prim and proper College recruiter, meets a rough and tumble Pro Hockey star Reid Holden! The chemistry is awesome!
Nadia definitely made this bad boy Reid heal!
The sex or love scene were precise and well written. How the two families meet and Interjet is interesting as Reid is of the Caucasian persuasion and Nadia is African American.
The introduction of the Swede and Nadia's cousin is done and leads me to believe there is more to come from these two characters.
I kinda liked the fact Nadia didn't take too much B.S. from Reid and his lifestyle and how she handled dealing with fans and thirsty women trying to get in his pants!
I am one who reads novels more than once and keep as a favorite and this is one of them! Brava, Ms. Maureen Smith. I look forward to reading more of your work!

Zenith and Silver don't hit it off, in a non physical sense. He approaches her and she shuts him down. They're both not so polite. One day they meet again and Silver who has sort of a chip in her shoulder, for good reason gives in. Zenith is powerful and beautiful.

They both realize they enjoy each other. Life gets in the way and Silver's past puts a halt to the progression of their coupling. However, as time passes they become friends and eventually lovers.

Zenith has issues he needs to address just as Silver does if they truly want to be all in with each other.

This story will make you laugh and Zeniths grandfather's story was such an added bonus. I enjoyed every scene with him, even though some were sad.

Overall this book was a great read. It just wasn't my favorite in a romantic sense. I loved the characters and the conversation between them. My favorite parts was the love Zenith had for his grandfather and Silver.

This book reads like a musical composition. After reading so many of Ms. Lavern's books I find that I can still be impressed.
Thank the creator there are no billionaires just two decent, kind, working people trying to deal with life and it's many complexities.
It's a shame so few books in this genre deal with ordinary people but this author has imagined two characters worthy of a second book.

Take some time out and get to know Zenith and Silver. I promise it will be worth it. Silver Nitrate is a series (Includes Books Grind and Grit) that explores Love's triumph over grief.
Zenith and Silver have a lot going on in their lives and are carrying heavy burdens from the past. When they meet, it is anything but ideal. What is meant to be, will find a way. This story isn't a race to arrive at some picturesque happily ever after.
It's a slow dance, with all the right beats. In a genre where everything is rushed, Tiana Laveen slowed down the beat so you hear all the words and feel the rhythm all the way from you toes to top of your head. You aren't being told Zenith and Silver are learning about each other you are seeing it unfold. These books are about the reality and simplicity of falling in love with someone. Love isn't always opposites attracting, like minded/like feeling people are drawn to each other too. This is often more complicated, it's easy to accept the parts you love about yourself in others but it can turn you upside down/inside out when you see the parts of yourself you can't stand in others. The journey of Zenith and Silver is about being there for each other no matter what life throughs at you. Oh, and so very much is thrown at them, they shoulder through it by knowing when to stand up for each other and when to stand up to each other. It's sweet, funny, sad and ever so hopeful.
