Had to have it in my collection! The main reason for the star subtraction is for Amazon not the movie!!!I just wish that Amazine would let me custom arrange my Video Library instead of only offering by date purchased or alphabetical order. I would prefer to arrange by genre, episode, number in franchise so that I could group my movies together instead of having a hodge podge to sort through!

Exhausting Old Men!

Ann Margret was so cool in this movie, the best I've ever seen her (well, except maybe for the snow bunny bit). The guys were so tirelessly grumpy they actually exhausted me! The story line kept my interest, and all characters were easy to get into and relate to. Happy ending with a very touching and loving relief from 'grump.'

first they were the odd couple

they were very grumpy as young men. twenty something years later, they were the odd couple 2. now they are grumpy old men. they enjoy being rude to each other. it's all they ever say. every day with the digs and name calling, an art form. what would they do without each other.they are too funny and they live next door to each other and sing a tropical heat wave all the time, in minnesota, where baby it's cold outside and inside, in 10 feet of snow.

Absolutely wonderful funny movie

One of my favorite movies of all time. Jack Lemmon is one of my favorite actors. Walter Matthau and Ann-Margret are absolutely wonderful as well. Love the fact that it was filmed on location in Minnesota. Great chemistry between the cast. So funny and easy going. I have it on dvd, but I wanted it on digital so that I could watch it wherever I travel. There is a real Slippery's in Wabasha, which has wonderful food and an awesome view of the Mississippi river. Recommend this film to everyone.

Love This Movie the Third Time Around!!!
Verified purchase
This is the third time I watched this movie. This is the third time around (at least.) I love it just as much as I did the first time. The characters are just wonderfully built and believable. The story is priceless. There are some incredibly funny moments throughout the movie. Burgess Merideth is perfect for his part. A complete scream! DO NOT miss the out takes at the end!

My husband and I we were a May/December true love match.
We laughed so hard we were in tears!
It is such a feel good movie. A true family film. P.S. Grumpy Old Men 2 is just as good.

Bluray features severely lacking, but totally worth it.

Grumpy Old Men is probably my favorite comedy of all time. I saw it in the theater back when it came out, then bought the VHS tape as soon as it was released. Then when DVD's took off, I waited and waited and waited for it to be released. It finally was, but only in FULL SCREEN. So I never bought it and only ever had the VHS version until this Bluray came out. Nothing more needs to be said about this movie, it is hilarious and heart-warming at the same time. A gem of a movie that shows you do not have to act old just because you hit your 60's, 70's or 80's. So I won't say any more about that... I will say it is so nice to finally see this in widescreen, and for a movie pushing 20 years old, the picture quality is great. It is a BIG bummer that all that is included on this Bluray disc is ONE trailer. This is easily the weakest Bluray I own when it comes to bonus features. But... I feel happy to get the movie and since it was only [...] bucks new, I can't complain. Here's to hoping the release Grumpier Old Men on Bluray now, and fill it with a ton of bonus features.
