So, usually by this point in a series Im done and bored with it. In my 53 yrs only 4 long series have kept me interested. The Intrepid saga Aeon14(though that one is losing me due to the vast amount of side books), Weber"s Honor Harrington, Nuttal"s Empire corps and Schooled in magic and now they Empire of Bones saga which seems to be reinventing itself( I do wonder about the attitudes of people who have nanobots in them to the existence of pico and femto... And how can Elise be so horrified of what's happens to her and keep on doing the same thing over and over again?)

With the conclusion of the previous novel to the series, I wasn't sure how the author would continue the story. He seemed to have concluded the series and could have ended it there, comfortably. The fact that he didn't filled me with absolute joy, and this story was indeed a page turner for me. I couldn't put the book down once I started it. He has done a fantastic job of bringing his characters to life - creating interesting narratives for them and devised interesting solutions that fit into the world he's built. This series, "The Empire of Bones" is a truly entertaining read, well deserving of your time. If you enjoy novels by David Weber, or Eric Flint or Jerry Pournelle or Timothy Zahn or David Drake or Edmond Hamilton - I think you'll enjoy Mr. Mixon's work too. I genuinely look forward to reading everything he publishes, he has yet to disappoint me.

And should the author actually see this - thank you for all the work you've put in. You've given me (at least) a very great many hours of entertainment and pleasure.

Oh boy, Crown Princess Kelsey is pregnant an definitely hates being coddled and being told she can't be in the front line anymore. Crown Princess Elise keeps finding new ways to improve her skills, much to her dismay.
Will they find a way to align with a former Rebel Empire or will there be another diplomacy meltdown due to deep hatred that was grown from history?

If you like parallel universes , this is a book to read!

I have enjoyed this series to date and it has had it's ups and downs. But this latest instalment just felt...flat and unsatisfying. It's almost as if the author was getting bored with the characters and the story.

I will most likely still buy the next one and hope this was more of a fluke. Time will tell.

This book continues the amazing story of the New Terran Empire, and yet again is as compelling and tightly knit as the first in the series. Terry Mixon is a true master of the genre, on a par with Heinlein in my opinion. Oh Terry, please say there will be more books coming in the Bones Saga! I need to know what happens to Kelsey and all the rest. What do they learn about the rune aliens? And the Clans? And the Singularity? Too many unanswered questions!

Entertaining to read, but any adult supervision would be going nuts. In a way, it would be interesting to view 100 alternate realities, and I would bet 95 would have bad endings.

The author has some of the main characters make stupid decisions or mistakes now and then and again, and this is annoying, I don't like reading about really strong idiots. But that's just a small part, and overall it is an entertaining read.
