IMO the 12c is in a class by itself.
Despite also owning an iPhone/iPad/iMac/Microsoft PC...I still prefer HP's RPC calculator
Criticism: The keys don't have the solid/smooth feel of the original HP12C, and the new carrying case is thicker/more clunky than the original. Charge $10 more and bring back the original features for five stars.
Really, in this day and age, this is an unacceptable display for a tool many people rely on.
No longer need to drag "ghost-integers" in excel to setup formulas. Just punch everything into the calculator. After a few rounds, the process feels much more comfortable. Give yourself extra before your first assignment. Solve the problem your traditional way using a calculator. Then try again using the recommended instructions from the tutorial videos. It should only take a few second to reconcile any discrepancies. After a few weeks of this, you should be read to adopt this calculator full-time.
I had to purchase this program for my Finance class during the first year of my MBA. It did not take long to become smoothly versed.
Questions should continue to arise. When you go back to find a solution to one question, you will likely find 3 or 4 better ways to use the calculator.

The only thing I'd say is this is NOT a scientific calculator and I wouldn't recommend it for school, but for accountancy it's pretty much perfect.
Good example of long tail
