"So, we'll go over the edge together. We'll sail over the side of the cliff and find out if we crash and burn - or whether we fly."
HOT HOT HOT!! And I don't just mean Hostile Operations Team! I think Cade is my favorite, but then I say that about each of the HOT members!
Cade "Saint" Rodgers wasn't on the rescue mission when HOT saved Brooke Sullivan. He only knows a little about what she went through. But he wants to get to know her. He knows he scares her - all of the HOT team members scare her. Who could blame her after being kidnapped and threatened? If all she's able to do is talk to him via text messages, then that's what he'll do. As her walls start to come down, danger finds her once again. Can he protect her from having to endure another traumatic event? Will the walls he's been slowly breaking down be built back up - this time will they impenetrable? Not on his watch.
Brooke Sullivan has spent the last two years just trying to hold it together. Men like Cade Rodgers frighten her. She doesn't like guns or the life he leads. But she's drawn to him. Starting with text messages is the only way she knows to explore what she's feeling. He's becoming the only man she even remotely trusts. When she finds herself the only witness to a murder, and there's a target on her back, she knows the only man that can help her is Cade. When her past seems to be repeating itself, and she once again finds her very life in danger, will she be able to get through it intact, or will this finally push her to the point of no return?
Love, love, love the HOT series. The men are all deliciously alpha and sweet all at the same time.
I know at some point this series will come to an end, but please not yet!!
The easiest way to prove my theory is to pick up "HOT Angel". This is book #12 on the series, but it's directly connected to book 7, "HOT Ice" (personally, my favorite of the entire series). Brooke Sullivan was introduced as a secondary character in "HOT Ice" - best friend to the Grace, who was the Leading Lady of that book. She was kidnapped and rescued by Grace's guy, Garrett "The Ice Man". Poor thing, the experience left her quite traumatized (as one might imagine), and two years later, she's still struggling to get her life back to normal when "HOT Angel" begins.
The couple are quite protective of Brooke, and aren't thrilled when she meets Cade "Saint" Rodgers at their commanding officers' wedding, and then again at their house for football night. But there's an attraction between them...
The thing about "HOT Angel" is that there's a different feel to it than other HOT books, with a bit of a slower pace, maybe fewer explosions, but that's not to say that it's not still, well, "HOT", because it certainly is.
Cade's Team gave him the Call Sign, "Saint," for a slightly comic reason, but they'll never know how much it really fits. Cade just melts my heart. After everything that Brooke's been through, it's wonderful to see someone finally care for her the way that she deserves.
I love Cade and Brooke's flirty texts, their slow burn; Cade's sincerity and Brooke's quirky humor. (And of course, I LOVE catching a glimpse of Grace and Garrett again!)
We first met Brooke Sullivan in book 7 HOT Ice she was best friends with Dr. Grace Campbell. She was kidnapped by some very big mean terrorists. Now it is two years later and she just can't seem to move on. She still has troubles dealing with being around big men like the ones who are in HOT and hangout at Grace and Garrett's house. She sold her house moved into a Condo got a big dog. She even dated her non-threatening neighbor a couple of times, but she still is so afraid.
Cade "Saint" Rodgers can't get the pretty sexy gal he talked to at the Colonel's wedding, out of his head. He see's her now and again when he hangs out with Alpha Squad. He can tell she is very skittish around him and the other men. He talks to her in Grace's kitchen one Sunday and they exchange phone numbers. They started texting each other at night, using fun emoji's like eggplants and kitty cat's. The chemistry they have in text are off the charts.
Then two weeks later Brooke finds her non-threatening neighbor dead. She passes out ends up in the emergence room, so she calls Cade to help her. He comes brings her home, soon they take the sexting to the next level. And the chemistry is electrifying.
When danger comes knocking Cade and Echo Squad has to do everything in their power to save the day. I loved this book it is Hot, steamy and sexy.

Cade "Saint" Rodgers with a D and Brooke "Angel" Sullivan with an E, was a fantastic read. Beautifully written book of two incomplete people coming together, Brooke still being haunted from her trauma two years in and Cade's patient but infinite support throughout the whole process was outstandingly put together.
There was hot action, hot sex, hot drama and hot emotions. Funny charming and extremely witty, the texts especially were a laugh his 'eggplant' and her 'cat' LOL
Can't wait for the next book. Thank you Lynn.
This book follows Brooke Sullivan who we initially met in book 7 HOT Ice and is best friends with Grace Campbell. She was the more outgoing of the two in this friendship but after being kidnapped she’s lost that and mostly keeps to herself, until she meets Cade Rodgers and that all changes.
Cade Rodgers can’t forget the petite blond who he first met at the Colonels, yeah she may have been slightly tipsy but he was interested in her and it wasn’t short-term interest either. Their friendship progresses after they see each other again but because of Brooke’s wary ness of the type of man Cade is this relationship progresses via text….. that’s until Brooke gets accidentally involved in something that puts her life at risk.
This storyline was great, it was good to see how Brooke was after her kidnapping ordeal and if it had changed her life. Cade is a newer member to the team but his alpha presence is still felt.
Can’t wait for more HOT!!
This is Brookes story, we met her as Grace's friend and as a result of her kidnapping she's now a very shy and retiring girl. Cade is intrigued by her. No spoilers.
The books are always well written and edited and previous characters make an appearance.
I think it's one of the weakest books of the series as some of the others are very strong but is an ok read.
Ah Cade aren’t you just phwoar?!
Cade & Brooke is a great read, their relationship just blooms over the pages and Cade is a true saint! I loved them and their journey!
As usual the book is full of great storytelling, action, smexing and love!
