This printer on the other hand, is a piece of junk. It's all setup with auto-updates and everything, it's fully up to date. Everytime I go to print, it's frozen at some strange blue screen, I have to pull the power to restart it to get it to work.
Now I'm trying to print Christmas Cards on 4x6 HP Photo Paper, and it was working fine, now it's telling me to load 4x6 paper, but it's already in the 4x6 photo tray. Then to top it off, I'm trying to fix it, and it freezes up again.
I called HP....oh, but wait, you can't call HP. There is no tech help phone number anywhere. Not on the box, not on the enclosed paperwork, not on the pretty colorful screen and not at the website where they direct you for help. HP DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR FROM THE CUSTOMER no way no how. Even the Department of Motor Vehicles is more user friendly than HP!
If this is the way HP (a once great company) is going, they'll be going down that road without my $$$$.
The final straw is the jamming. I am using all HP toner and setup instructions and whatnot, but this darn thing jams CONSTANTLY.
I'm so, so sorry I donated my Canon Pixma. I didn't know how good I had it.
It gets worse every day. I was just trying to make a simple black and white copy of a W-2 today, and the whole computer screen went nuts. I had to power off and on again.
I am also out of ink. Again. After trying the expensive "XL" size. What a huge waste of money and time this printer has been.

Talked to someone - we can only replace it because you've signed up for Instant Ink. Whaaa? Ok...so he transfers me to the Instant Ink people - but the call disconnects. Call back, get actual number. Talk to someone - they transfer me to Instant Ink. What's your case number? Um...he never gave me one. Around and around with questions, many of them already answered with the same person. We can only help you if we send you a new power cord first. Uh..ok. Getting ready to end the call - I had to ask for the case number. New power cord comes in, doesn't work - which I knew it wouldn't. Call HP. On the phone for TWO. SOLID. HOURS. Repeating all of the things already done in prior calls, wanting to wait on the phone for the system to brick (which could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes), and finally caving that yes, we may have to send you a new one. However, that 2 hour phone call was Sept. 29th and...nothing.
As I was typing this, I got an email. Says the printer shipped today and is due 10/4/2017. Huh. Okaaayyy....
Overall, while the printer was *great* during the first week (and the Instant Ink seems to be on the ball - got the first shipment after the printer bricked)...I would be wary. The printer and touchscreen should not brick like that, and it's possible that it will happen to others. Knowing the hoops I had to jump through on the phone just to get a case number? I'm not sure I would ever order another HP product again.
