What is the point?
The movie was better. the actors were better, the action was better. what was the point of turning a movie into a TV series if you really don't add much and just make a worse version of it

Not the Hanna we know
Wanted and waited to watch all this time since the announcement. Doesn't seem the makers of this series are interested in the same demographic as the ones who made the movie. Movie Hanna was a monster predator trying to be an adolescent; while trying to suppress her initial impulses to be the aggressor in even the most innocent situations. Series Hanna is closer to that simple minded girlfriend of Brian the dog from Family Guy than she is to the movie Hanna but with the inability to control her hormones to boot. Spoilers: Hanna easily dispatches several individuals to escape a desert compound, very up close and personal kills, yet some smoke from flash grenades in the streets of Berlin give her PTSD symptoms????? The 1000 yard stare nonsense throughout the series made her seem severely and persistently mentally ill when she should have appeared reserved and cerebral. So disappointed. By the way Hanna could have been presented as ignorant to the modern world without making her appear broken and disinhibited in every teenage social situation she was faced with. So disappointed. She ate dumpster food... a character who was raised knowing exactly how her food got into her belly is reduced to dumpster pizza??? This is like telling us you're giving us a superman series but instead give us a guy who can't fly and lacks the motivation to protect the disenfranchised. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!

Action, Stunts, Drama & Suspense: HANNA.
This series is really good! If you've watched The Killing starring Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnamon, you'll be psyched to see them together again. Except they're far from partners this time around (ironically, he tells her in one scene: "now we work together again."). They're both excellent actors with a ton of depth and experience. (I really enjoyed the movie Hanna as well, starring Saoirse Ronan. She's super talented!) In the show, Esme Creed-Miles plays Hanna, and she definitely holds her own, particularly for her young age. Her character's strengths and vulnerabilities are on full display, and she was a decent choice for the lead.

The show version expands on character development throughout a longer period of time, allowing you to appreciate the gravity of their choices, actions and emotions. There are many tender moments that make the characters relatable. Hanna is an interesting and unique series; it's full of carefully executed dialogue, action, drama, suspense and cool stunts. At times, it's also like a young adult series that some actual adults may not love (frollicking & joyriding youngsters, dancing in clubs, first crush, first kiss, loss of virginity, etc.). But it's only at certain parts, and the fight scenes are straight-up badass superhero takedowns.

The outdoor scenes are especially beautiful and cinematic. I like how the story rolls out, bit by bit, leaving you wanting more. There is a constant air of mystery and danger throughout. The music is chosen well overall, the directing is spot on, and the acting is GOOD. I'd give this a 4-4.5, but must give 5 due to unreasonable single star reviews. Enjoy it!

Imaginative, thrilling, and talented cast
What an awesome story. Worldly elements with an ever morphing landscape that takes you on a ride. And the talent... So great to see Joel in another series with his return costar. They both deliver riveting performances. And one can not begin to describe the depth of character attained by "Hanna." This will be the first in a long career of successes for her. I didn't realize TV could be this good.

If you like the movie, this is pretty similar.
Binged right away... For fans of the movie, this series is pretty similar. Little events and details have changed but it really sticks to the original script. Series is well done and the acting is above average. Some of the fight scenes are unbelievable but I say that about almost all action movies. Would binge watch again and will definitely watch Season 2 if it happens.

Deeper than the original
The original movie had a great concept and started out well, the action sequences went from ok to laughably ridiculous, the plot kind of meandered and it never went very deep. This show succeeds where the other failed. The action is well done and relatively more plausible. The plot moves at a good pace. More importantly, it actually spends time on deeper themes like what does it mean to be a father, what is love, and even a bit of nature vs nurture.
Its nice to see something good come from Prime every now and again.
