I liked this movie. Could have gotten a better male vocalist

This is in my collection and will be re-watched from time to time.

The production captured human emotions in a very touching and believable way. That is mostly Haley Webb who is excellent. She performed at 5 star level. Brittany Underwood was sometimes over the top bubbly or adolescent silly (along with her friends), and that seemed pretentious, but she delivered emotional moments well and she has a good voice. In her defense, maybe she was executing what the director wanted. If so then she excelled and the ding is on the director. Having seen her do well elsewhere makes this more likely.

The overall rating would be four stars except James Maslow's voice held it down to three. I sometimes skip some of his vocal segments. The fact that I will still watch for all the other parts speaks volumes for their quality.

His voice is completely not my style. Just too squishy or effeminate for me sometimes. With eyes closed, his gender becomes uncertain. I like the clear open strong tenor (AKA Bono, Phil Collins and others). Some will disagree about his voice, and that is a matter of personal preference. But 1 star deducted from the rating for his vocals.

I recommend a watch.

A sweet little story

I finally watched this movie after seeing it advertised. I thought it would be different but after reading through all of the reviews, I decided to give it a chance. I really enjoyed the music. The female rep. was a horrible hag. So mean and a true liar. The guys voice was like Micky Mouse but evidentially he is a popular singer, once in a popular band and on Dancing with the stars. The story was a good one. The young female singer character was written well. I guess it was all about seeing through fame to realize they are real people with real feelings and learning to respect that and not exploit them. It ended well. Enjoy!!

Pretty lame

I almost shut it off twice...but it was the third movie I had tried to watch tonight , so I stuck in there...and now I'm going to bed mad at myself for wasting the last 1 1/2 hours watching this very lame movie with bad acting, bad script and no endearing qualities at all. I gave it two stars to make myself feel better about actually watching it

it was cheesy bad. The issue wasnt even a good issue as it wasnt all that bad. It was really not that great of a movie. If your gonna portray someone stabbing you in the back then you should really stab the person in the back. You can tell she was never gonna write that story and that it was all bs. The acting wasnt that great and it did seem realistic

REALLY WEAK STORY AND A BIT CORNY

The music was pretty good, better than the acting, directing, costumes... Editing was good, it moved pretty smoothly, but high school play, not professional film acting level. Sweet, not really offensive, just pretty weak. Some great scenes and lines, but not enough to fill the film.

Cute, romantic movie

I like this movie. It was cute and romantic even though I knew that the main characters were going to fall in love. The story line was good and I would watch it again,

I liked it. Had some good values learned and mentioned.
Content wise it was pretty clean. Had a lot of kissing but nothing extreme and no cussing

Looks good, but turned out boring.

The actors and actresses did a good job with the lame lines they were given. Although it seemed like a great storyline at first, it quickly became monotonous, and they should have dressed the main female lead character (Ally) better. She looked drab most of the time except for when she wore the red dress.
