Through a friend, within the past year I have become a huge fan of everything Fran Drescher! I love The Nanny and have read Fran's book, "Cancer Schmancer" several times and love it. "Happily Divorced" is not-so-loosely based on Fran's real-life experience of being married for years and discovering, through her husband's own odyssey, that he is gay. There are many lines in the script that are paralleled with lines in her book about her actual marriage. The series has it's ironic moments but is basically a very, very funny series, like when Fran and her husband are interested in the same man. Former "Nanny" costars are frequent guests on "Happily Divorced," and it's such a delight to see them, and, in fact, the gentleman in the aforementioned episode is none other than "The Nanny's" "Mr. Sheffield," (And looking fantastic, I might add!). My only issue is where can I find Seasons 2 and 3 in DVD form to send to my friend??? I can get them on my computer but she only has a DVD player and no computer. Anyone know?

Bought this Happily divorced dvd series because I love Fran Drescher. Unfortunately it was a total waste of time and money. I’d return it if I could. Fran is her bubbly self but the actors who are in here are flat and terrible! By the 3rd episode of absolute dull repetitive storyline I yanked the dvd out and chucked it back into the case. What could have actually been a funny series is ruined by poor casting. So disappointing. Don’t waste your time or money on this. I’m hoping she can find her nitch in another series soon.

I LOVED this show! I was so disappointed when it was cancelled. I like watching TV that makes me laugh. I get enough of horrible things on the news. I don't like "reality" TV. Nobody is so interesting that I want to see that much of their lives. I'm so tired of watching people have sex on TV when, most of the time, it adds nothing to the plot. This show was just fun. It had a wonderful cast. I only waited so long to buy it because I was hoping to get season 2 also. I would buy season 2 if they ever released it. I hope that Fran comes back with another wonderful show.

I’m a Fran Drescher fan and I absolutely adore Rita Moreno. So I simply had to own it!

Seems like a weird situation, but after 18 years of marriage a man reveals to his wife that he is really gay. However, this is based on Fran Drescher's real life situation of being divorced from a man who came out to her. Now they are producing the series together and having fun with it! Sometimes a bit much, but Drescher is softer and more likeable here. And she has a terrific supporting cast. Most notably Rita Moreno (now a knockout 80 years old) and Robert Walden as Fran's parents. They have plenty of bite and are still making love. Some good guest stars and references from the Nanny are clever. Worth a look, and hope there will be a 2nd season.

Although much hoarser than she used to be-Fran Drescher returns to a sitcom through tv land. While the quality could be much better (which has less to do with Drescher and more to do with tv land's limited budget) Happily Divorced once again explores Drescher's real life through fantasy. This time instead of using her upbringing in Queens like in the Nanny, she uses the end result of her own divorce. Its refreshing and honest, and I enjoyed each episode. I also appreciated hearing Tischa Campbell's singing skills again-what a nice touch to the episodes.

Loved loved loved this show! Was happy to find season 1 but season 2 would have been the icing on the cake. My husband also found the show funny after having not seen it before. Definitely worth the purchase.

happily divorced is created by her own life! poor fran drescher. had to go through such bad things when she was young.
and after such a long marriage really found out that her husband is actually gay and got divorced. after that they created together the show. kinda funny and sad, but she takes it sooooo well.

well. if you like comedy and "nanny fine" then buy it and ejoy and I hope to see more seasons coming
