Hawke: The Law of a Fast Gun (Hawke (HarperTorch Paperback)) Mass Market Paperback – October 31, 2006
A man haunted and changed by war—whose fingers are equally skilled in the arts of music and death—Mason Hawke has found a new home in Braggadocio, Nebraska. But a dustup in the local saloon has forced his hand, and now two bodies lie lifeless on the dirty floor—a situation an unscrupulous cattleman plans to use to his advantage.
Like Hawke, Clint Jessup is running from his past. But Jessup's sins turned him hard and greedy—and he's willing to drain bone dry a town that's trying to build a future, if it puts an extra dollar in his pocket. The blood of a drifter named Mason Hawke is going to oil his money-making scheme. But it doesn't matter how many killers he sends Hawke's way, because the target plays by his own rules: draw first, shoot fast, and keep watching your back.

There is an excess of cursing as well and the use of the term whore. In this series Wolfe sleeps around with the prostitutes as well.
There is very little good to overcome the evil that exists.
Mason Hawke works at the same saloon, The Hog Lot. This will be the beginning of another adventure into the life & times of Mason Hawke that fans won't want to miss.
I absolutely love the character Mason Hawke & due to the Robert Vaughan books I have already read I am hooked & plan to eventually read all of them.
These books are definitely winners in a very special manner. I have consistently been impressed with each and every new episode. If you are not happy with the things are going, jus wait and things ate brought together in the end.
I certainly recommend this series, as they are very entertaining and the focus of the author is to maintain his readers interest at all times. Do not miss the opportunity to jump aboard the Hawks train, or the loss will most certainly be your!
