I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Around the middle of book 3, Callie's scenes with her men become rushed and are lacking in details. The guys', though, they're significantly longer and more detailed. Not just the sex scenes, either; the plot becomes more focused around the guys, too. I feel like the author lost her way and forgot that the series was supposed to be about the Phoenix being reborn and primarily revolved around missing kids.
It started to feel like Callie was falling by the wayside. Especially as this one started. The very first chapter is nothing but detailed sex between two of the male members of the quint. I was hoping that Callie would at least be there watching, but nope. Nowhere in sight or thoughts, except as a comparison as to how what they're doing is better than their time with her.
I read the critical reviews, saw that my suspicion that Callie was going to be nothing more than an afterthought ongoing and decided I was done. If you want a RH series where everyone shares the love EQUALLY, this isn't it. It had a lot of promise, though, which was disappointing. I think if the books were longer, the author probably could have stayed on track, but alas, they are not. The author is a good writer, and I'll give some of her other books a read, but I'm done with this series and won't give the spinoff a try.

But it was between all the sex scenes. Lots and lots of sex. mm, fm, mfm, mmf and finally mmmfm. Lots of kink too (but not strong or detailed bdsm). In fact the first sex scene starts in the first paragraph.
If her other series are like this one then I will have a lot of reading
