too much sex

I never thought I’d say this because usually when there are a few too many sex scenes I just skip ahead and continue with the plot, but there is so much sex in this series that I can barely hold onto the plot.

I’m beginning to get annoyed with authors who write characters who completely ignore that their lives or the lives of their mates are in danger so they can pop out and have sex. This group is literally surrounded by possible enemies and instead of trying to figure out who wants to assassinate them, they are racing back to the bedroom not for a quickie, but a 10 page blow by blow sex marathon.

The author also does this thing where she randomly shares information in the middle of that 10 page sex scene and then they ignore it and go back to sex. Not only does this draw me out of the scene if I happen to get drawn into it, but if I try to skip the scene then I miss information and am confused as to what people are talking about.

Normally I would try to power through and complete the series anyways but I just can’t with this. To be clear, I read through the first three and then had to stop partway through the fourth. Too much.

There is a ton of steam to this book with all the characters but its not the whole of the story. The plot ends on a nice cliffhanger of sorts but it definitely hints at an end to come.
