Blog postGuess what I did?
Rather, guess what I didn’t do…I didn’t announce that Nocturna 5: Sacrifice was available for pre-order. I also didn’t announce that it became available last month. Oh, I threw out a weak announcement on Facebook. But I didn’t Twit it. Or Tweeter it. Whatever. I have an Instagram. I know I do because I get notifications from it. I just don’t use it. I’m an old dog that hates new tricks and can barely stand most social media so you’d think I’d take better care of this bl3 weeks ago Read more -
Blog postFor those of you who enjoy my stories and occasionally slip by here to check on upcoming projects, I owe you an apology. I know as well as anyone that I’ve been AWOL for some time now. It’s not the first time, and knowing me as well as I do, I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last. BUT, I’m back now and doing my best to get back on track.
I realize it’s been a year.
Not my worst, by any stretch. The first time I went AWOL was for over two years. I was convinced that I’d quit. It wa3 months ago Read more -
Blog postNocturna 1: Begining of the End has been approved for retail sale through ACX. Click the image below for the link to Amazon.
For those of you who are willing to provide an honest review, email me at heathstallcup@gmail.com and I’ll provide a code for you.
Now, for other news. Eric Shelman is wrapping up N2 and we’ll be mashing the button to put it in ACX’s hands any time now. I am working on number 5, but the going is slow. As most of you know, I have a hard time getting back1 year ago Read more -

Blog postI had no plan to have Nocturna made into an audible. One of my boys approached me and asked if I would consider allowing him to try his hand at narrating it and I thought, “Why not?”
Well, life being what it is, he wasn’t able to adequately create a recording space so the plan was set aside… until he came back and asked if I could recruit Eric A. Shelman to do it. Apparently, he was a big fan of Eric’s style.

Blog postI caught the bug.
Not COVID…the children’s book bug. I’m pretty sure that’s a real thing.
I can’t really help it, so don’t blame me. I blame the time of year. The Christmas season. The fact that we currently have thirteen grandchildren might play a small part, but nonetheless, I bounced another idea off of Jeff Kosh. He loved it. My missus (also my biggest, best and hottest critic) absolutely adored it! In fact, she said it gave her chillbumps.

Blog postSo I just mashed the button on a new project. And this one is a bit…different for me.
Here’s the back story, but in a nutshell. Have you ever had a dream and thought ‘Wow! That would make a grand story!’ or something along those lines? I do all the time. Except, I usually forget what it was before I can get up and pee. Don’t judge…I’m old.
Well, I had one of those dreams again, except…I remembered it. And I thought, that would make a really neat children’s book. Yes…children’s1 year ago Read more -

Blog postYes, you read that right. Releases, as in plural.
Bridger 2: Burned Bridges is slated to drop 10/13!
I’m really excited for this one even though I still question my ability to develop stories in this incredible genre. To be able to craft a universe where Bridger and his cohorts thwart evil is thrilling to me, even if it’s not up to par with those who normally swim in these waters.

Blog postI’ve wrapped up the second edition of Bobby Bridger and his exploits. It may still be a bit as it’s cleaned up and polished but hopefully soon, it will be available. I still question attempting to dive into the dark and murky waters of political thrillers and espionage, but it’s been such a fun project.
From the back blurb:

Blog postI was ready to call it quits.
Not on writing, but on social media, the news, the MSM,…everything that is supposed to keep us connected. I was simply sick of the negativity and the doom and gloom and everybody bickering and back-biting and…I was done. I had reached a point where I seriously wished somebody would stop the planet and let me off.

Blog postIt’s the end of an era. Caldera is finally laid to rest. After twelve stories, multiple enemies and countless attacks, the survivors of the rage virus can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
No spoilers here though. You’ll have to read for yourselves to see who lives and who becomes a snack for the infected.
As I stated before, Caldera 12 is the series finale. I’ll be moving on to other projects but I feel like I left myself the option to return to some of the characters again.2 years ago Read more

However, Wormwood brought with it something that nobody was prepared for. A tiny life form, a prion, began to infect people and twist their DNA until an entirely new species sprung to the forefront.
Mankind fell from his throne as the new species, the Nocturna, prepared to take its place as the world’s newest Apex Predator.
Nobody expected what was happening.
Nobody knew the truth behind what was happening, either.
As the squad begins to rebuild their ranks from a crippling blow, they not only face the creatures of the dark… but now some begin to question the loyalty of members within their elite group.
Will they fight as one cohesive unit, or be torn apart by internal strife? As the squad deals with their own turmoil, a dark storm brews that threatens not just the hunters, but the lives of every human on Earth.
Civil wars reduced the world population even more. Then came the asteroid Wormwood and everything changed.
Man did what nobody expected…they pulled together and worked to save the planet and themselves.
Years after the space rock did its damage, people began to change. Old tensions were brought back as those afflicted were targeted by the fearful.
Then the real monsters appeared, and nobody was ready for what happened next.
Now, a threat so overwhelming comes to light that they must turn to the very monsters they’ve hunted in the past to help protect humanity.
A dark storm brews on the horizon and the teams find themselves uprooted from the security of the facility they call home and transplanted to the middle of the Nevada desert, all to draw the evil to them and away from population centers. The teams prepare for a showdown with the darkest of creatures and an army of undead with the very existence of humanity hanging in the balance.
Nearly thirty percent of the population was killed by new virus strains. Racial tensions flared and evolved into two civil wars.
Nations were fragmented with numerous ‘no-go’ combat zones controlled by local warlords, most still active to this day.
At a time when mankind should have been reaching for the future, it devolved into a nearly apocalyptic present, pitting neighbor against neighbor and nation against nation until another twenty percent of the world’s population had been extinguished.
Then came the asteroid Wormwood. And everything changed.
